A man opened the door and said, “What do you want?”

“I want to buy something which only you sell,” Bian Ke said as she looked into the man’s eyes.

The man understood that she was a client. He leaned to the side to let her in. As soon as she entered, she saw the wall lined with bottles of “ginseng” wine. Some of the wine was even dark red in color!

“You said you want to buy something, so what do you want? I have all kinds of supplements here. I can provide you with anything you want,” the man said confidently.

“Ginseng, a 30-year-old wild ginseng. Can you replicate it?” Bian Ke asked.

When the man heard the word “replicate”, he knew that this person knew about his background. He never sold ginseng to locals, not even to people from the neighboring cities. He was afraid that if they realized he sold them fake ginseng and came looking for him, the losses would outweigh the gains.

“Young lady, why do you want to buy this ginseng? Although I sell fakes, I have limits. I won’t do anything that will endanger someone’s life,” the man said.

“It’s a gift. It looks good when displayed at home.” Bian Ke made up a lie.

“How much do you want for it?” Bian Ke asked.

“10,000 Dollars,” the man said.

“This is a fake! People will even think that it’s a radish! You dare to ask me for 10,000 dollars!” Bian Ke said in shock.

“But I’m the only one who has this skill. I’m guessing that your family members have come here before. I’ll give you my best price. 5,000 dollars. I won’t sell it to you for anything less,” the man said.

Bian Ke held on tightly to the money in her pocket. She knew that this man was the only one who could help her solve her current problem. She had wanted to keep the 20,000 dollars for herself! When she married into the Xia family in the future, she would try and get Meng Yuan to give her another tens of thousands of dollars so that she could buy a bigger house.

“Alright! It’s a deal!” Bian Ke put the cloth bag into her bag. By the time she reached home, it was already dark and everyone was waiting for her. After all, they had all contributed money to buy such an expensive ginseng. They naturally wanted to see what this treasure looked like.
