Chapter 54: Weaving Pack Baskets

Tie Mu scratched his head with anxiety and awkwardness as he said, “Just call me Tie Mu!”

Su Tang felt surprised in her heart. She wanted to be friendlier, but he did not want her to talk to him that way!

Was he younger than her in reality?

Su Tang did not dare ask or say anything, so she merely nodded stiffly, “Okay, Tie Mu!”

After the two of them had gone some distance, Bu Sen went up to Red Fruit and mumbled, “Auntie Red Fruit, you should have asked me to go with Su Tang. Tie Mu is so stupid that he might end up scaring Su Tang!”

Red Fruit glanced at Bu Sen. She ignored him and continued picking chestnuts.

Bu Sen kept following Red Fruit as he said, “Auntie Red Fruit, you know what Tie Mu is like. What if Su Tang ends up thinking everyone in the tribe is hard to get along?”

Red Fruit finally could not stand his chatter and slapped Bu Sen on this shoulder hard. He was simply too tall, so she could not hit him on the head!

“Keep working! The rainy season is already halfway through, and the cold season is coming soon! Do you really think I don’t know what you are playing at? Chief likes Su Tang, so don’t make trouble!”

Bu Sen rubbed his shoulder. Red Fruit had barely done any damage when she hit him.

He kept going close to Red Fruit shamelessly, “Auntie Red Fruit, don’t be angry! I wasn’t trying to make trouble! I will work hard, so don’t tell Chief about it!”

Red Fruit glared at him angrily. “Hurry up and get cracking!”

Tie Mu pulled Su Tang by the sleeve and said, “There’s a cliff up ahead and nowhere else to go!”

Su Tang nodded before she continued heading towards the cliff.

Tie Mu scratched his head. He did not know what else to say and could only follow behind her.

Many unknown plants hung from the cliff, and one of the vines that were roughly as thick as an index finger caught Su Tang’s attention.

The vine grew in abundance here and tangled together like the electric cables outside the orphanage!

She went over and pulled one. Perfect, it did not break!

Su Tang activated the system and paid one point to determine if the vines were strong enough for making baskets.

The system answered quickly!

[BEEP! These are ghost vines. They are strong enough for basket weaving and become very durable and light after drying!]

Su Tang beamed happily at the positive result!

“Tie Mu, can you help me yank these vines off? I need them!”

Although Tie Mu did not know why she needed them, he did not probe. Despite his powerful innate strength, it was hard for him to yank them off!

Su Tang felt even happier about the ghost vine when she saw this!

Su Tang gathered four bundles of ghost vine with Tie Mu’s help. After taking a walk around the place without discovering any more ghost vine, she left with Tie Mu.

On their way back, Tie Mu could not help asking, “Su Tang, are they edible? How do we prepare them?”

Su Tang softly laughed as she shook her head. “These aren’t edible, but they are as important as food!”

Tie Mu was at a loss. He could not see how something could be more important than food!

He led Su Tang back to the spot where they were gathering chestnuts.

“Tangtang, why did you come back so soon? Did you find any new kind of food? What is Tie Mu carrying?”

Green Fruit felt curious when she saw a mysterious smile on Su Tang’s face!

Tie Mu walked over and placed the ghost vine on the ground before he said quizzically, “Su Tang said it’s not for eating, but just as important as food!”
