Chapter 729: Order to capture
Not only had he utterly failed to crush the group from the Great Ruler Empire—the very people he’d planned to humiliate, rob and kill—but he’d also lost his chance to claim the lightning essence stones for himself, stones that could have earned him immense resources and prestige.
Worse still, he and his men were now forced to endure the wrath of heaven itself, as the vengeful lightning continued to rain down upon the lake, striking the ground with punishing force and sending violent shockwaves rippling through the air.
Time crawled by as the relentless storm gradually began to weaken, the bolts of lightning striking less often until, at last, the sky above the lake grew a touch calmer.
When the lightning finally stopped, the dome-shaped shield that Ben had conjured earlier still hovered over Omar’s group, though its once-smooth surface was now marred with deep fractures, spiderweb-like cracks radiating in every direction, glowing faintly as residual sparks danced along them.
Despite the shield having barely survived both Max’s golden sword assault and the savage lightning storm, Omar’s fury showed no signs of cooling.
His eyes glinted darkly as he swept his gaze across his men, his chest heaving with heavy breaths. Then he barked out his next orders in a voice sharp as a blade. “Blake, Astor, and Nick… Go and find that bastard! Capture him and bring him back here—I want to kill him with my own hands!”
His voice trembled slightly, not with fear but with a murderous thirst for vengeance.
The three experts he called upon—Blake, Astor, and Nick, each of them powerful 6th level Champion Rank experts—immediately clasped their bowed. “Yes, Young Master,” they chorused in unison, their expressions grave.
Without wasting another second, the trio turned and vanished into the distance, streaking away like bolts of lightning themselves, intent on hunting down the man who had so thoroughly humiliated their Young Master and robbed them all of their prize.

Max was currently perched high atop the thick branch of a towering tree, hidden amidst the canopy of dense green leaves that rustled softly around him, a gentle breeze brushing across his face as he focused intently on the objects in his hands.
One by one, he pulled out glittering stones from his spatial storage, their faint purple lightning crackling and dancing along their translucent surfaces like miniature storms contained within solid crystal.
“A total of a hundred and ten lightning essence stones!” he exclaimed quietly to himself, his eyes widening slightly as he finished counting the precious haul.

Though the number surprised him a bit, considering how heavy the stones were and the powerful energy each one radiated, he wasn’t exactly shocked either; after all, he had expected a considerable yield given how the entire area surrounding the lake had practically been overflowing with these stones, littering the ground and glittering beneath the stormy skies like scattered stars.
A grin tugged at the corners of his lips, and his chest swelled with satisfaction as he tucked the stones away carefully, feeling the weight of victory settle warmly in his bones.
“Now I don’t need to worry about practicing the Storm King’s inheritance,” Max muttered, unable to keep the excitement out of his voice. It felt good—no, incredible—to know that he’d accomplished exactly what he’d come to the Berserk Lightning Region to do.
The Berserk Lightning Region itself was notorious across the lands, one of the very few places that didn’t contain a Battle Realm black cube for easy travel because the constant, violent storms of lightning rendered such technology useless and too dangerous to install.
Anyone wanting to reach the Berserk Lightning Region had only two options: either travel there by void shuttle—an expensive and risky method—or enter neighboring regions through the Battle Realm and make their way in on foot, braving the perilous terrain and lightning strikes along the way.
Max and his team, determined to secure the lightning essence stones, had chosen the former, arriving in the region via void shuttle despite the cost, willing to gamble on the danger for the chance to reap such extraordinary rewards.
“There is still one more task I have left to do,” Max murmured to himself, his voice barely audible above the soft rustle of leaves as he stood balanced on the sturdy branch, the distant glow of lightning flickering across the sky behind him.
With a swift tap of his fingers against the sleek surface of his holowatch, a holographic screen flickered into existence before his eyes, casting a pale blue glow that illuminated his focused expression.
On the translucent display appeared the image of a monstrous creature, its body sleek and segmented, legs crackling with arcs of purple lightning as it loomed menacingly, its ten sharp limbs splayed outward like the spokes of a deadly wheel.
“Lightning Ten Legs Spider,” Max muttered under his breath, his eyes narrowing slightly as he examined the creature’s detailed features displayed on the screen.
This beast was no random curiosity—it was one of the missions he’d carefully chosen before setting out on this dangerous trip. Among the various objectives he’d lined up for himself in the Berserk Lightning Region, the one tied to this fearsome spider was particularly valuable: to acquire the ten eyes of the Lightning Ten Legs Spider.
But before Max could even begin planning how to hunt the monster, he suddenly felt a ripple of warning pass through him as both his Three Dimensional Body and his Green Soul simultaneously detected the faint disturbance of three powerful presences stealthily closing in around him, like predators circling unseen.
His eyes sharpened, and without hesitation, he swiftly stowed the glittering lightning essence stones into his spatial storage, his fingers moving with practiced speed.
Drawing a deep breath, he then willed his Green Soul into action, cloaking his entire presence so thoroughly that even the faintest wisp of his aura was smothered, dissolving him into the surrounding environment as if he were part of the tree itself.
Moments later, Blake, Astor, and Nick arrived at the spot beneath the tree where Max had been hidden only moments earlier, their expressions tense and eyes scanning the area with focused intensity.
