Chapter 733: Stealing

Max arrived before the looming, jagged maw of the cave, its entrance framed by dark stone slick with moisture and faintly glowing veins of electric-blue minerals that pulsed like a heartbeat under the restless flicker of lightning outside.

According to the vivid memories he’d stolen from Blake, this was precisely where the Lightning Ten Legs Spider had made its lair—a beast shrouded in both mystery and terror.

But just as Max was about to advance further, his keen ears picked up distant echoes rolling out from deep within the tunnel.

Boom! Bang!

The sounds reverberated like thunder through the winding cavern walls, rattling loose dust and pebbles from the ceiling above.

’Sounds of battle?’ Max thought, his eyes narrowing as a flicker of urgency passed through his expression. Without wasting another second, he slipped into the cave’s shadows, his aura wrapped tightly in his Green Soul’s cloak, his movements silent as moonlight.

He made sure not to disturb so much as a single pebble, choosing instead to teleport himself forward in careful, measured steps, vanishing and reappearing deeper and deeper into the labyrinthine tunnels, guided by the growing roar of combat echoing ahead.

Before long, he emerged into a massive chamber hidden at the heart of the cave—a colossal underground vault lit by countless jagged stalactites shimmering with trapped lightning.

At the center of the chaos, a monstrous creature reared up on ten spindly, segmented legs, each one crackling with arcs of savage purple lightning. Its body was a hideous armored mass, glistening black and veined with flickering light, and from its grotesque head glowered ten malevolent eyes, glowing like hellish stars.

The Lightning Ten Legs Spider loosed a shrieking screech that reverberated through the cavern, arcs of lightning whipping outward from its mandibles as it lunged, aiming to impale and electrocute anyone foolish enough to be in range.

But it wasn’t fighting alone. Arrayed in disciplined formation all around it were members of the Thunder Monarch Hall—the very experts Omar had brought into the Berserk Lightning Region.

They moved, their bodies flashing in and out of sight as they launched coordinated attacks. Swords glowed with condensed lightning, spears stabbed forward trailing electric whips, and palm strikes burst with crackling energy, hammering the monstrous spider with relentless force.

Yet the key force dominating the battle was Ben—a towering figure exuding the unmistakable aura of a 7th level Champion Rank expert. His presence blazed like a star, a swirling maelstrom of power that seemed to warp the very air around him.

Each of his strikes fell like a thunderclap, shaking the cave walls as bolts of white-hot lightning surged forth from his fists, slamming into the spider’s chitinous armor with enough power to send sparks and fragments flying in all directions.

“Keep the pressure up!” Ben roared, his voice echoing off the cavern walls like a drum of war as he charged forward, dodging a scything leg before blasting the creature in the face with a spear of condensed lightning.

The spider shrieked and stumbled backward, several of its eyes now scorched and flickering dimly as they struggled to focus. The other experts pressed the advantage, coordinating seamlessly as they darted in and out, landing rapid strikes while evading the creature’s deadly limbs.

Despite the spider’s formidable size and its searing aura of lightning energy, it was clear that the Thunder Monarch Hall experts, under Ben’s leadership, were systematically wearing it down, carving burns and gashes across its armored hide with grim efficiency.

Hidden in the shadows above the battlefield, Max crouched on a narrow stone ledge, his eyes gleaming with cold calculation as he watched the brutal dance unfolding beneath him. Sparks flew like shooting stars across the cavern, the scent of scorched chitin thick in the air.

He held his breath tightly as he weighed his options. A frown tugged at his lips. If he didn’t act soon, there was a very real chance the Thunder Monarch Hall would claim the Lightning Ten Legs Spider—and its precious ten eyes—before he could make his move.

And if Omar got his hands on those eyes, the consequences would ripple far beyond this lightning-torn region.

“I have to act fast,” Max thought, his expression tightening into one of sharp focus, his eyes locked intently on the battlefield below as his heart thudded in his chest like a war drum.

He knew there was only one person here who truly posed a threat to him—Ben, the 7th level Champion Rank powerhouse whose overwhelming aura pulsed like a living storm through the cavern.

Max understood that if he got caught in a direct confrontation with Ben, things could spiral into chaos far beyond his control, and the chance to secure the ten eyes of the Lightning Ten Legs Spider would slip through his fingers.

Down below, the battle had surged into its final, desperate crescendo. The massive spider reeled drunkenly on its six remaining legs, its grotesque body heaving with labored breaths as arcs of wild lightning sputtered across its shattered exoskeleton.

Four of its legs lay severed on the blood-soaked stone floor, oozing streams of thick, green luminescent blood that hissed as it splattered across the scorched ground.

The once-glowing light in its ten eyes had dimmed, flickering like dying stars. Ben struck forward again, his fists crackling with blinding white lightning as he roared and drove a final, devastating spear of energy directly into the spider’s central thorax.

A violent explosion echoed through the cavern, sending shards of chitin flying in every direction as the spider let out a shrill, gargling shriek that cut off mid-cry. Its hulking form shuddered violently before collapsing with a thunderous crash that rattled the stone walls, limbs twitching spasmodically as the last of its life drained away.

Seeing the beast’s death throes, Max’s eyes flashed with determination. ’Now.’ In the very instant the spider fell, Max’s figure vanished from his perch on the stone ledge, dissolving into thin air as he activated his teleportation.

In a heartbeat, he materialized directly beside the fallen spider, his arrival masked by the burst of steam and falling debris from the creature’s dying convulsions.

Moving faster than any eye could follow, his hand shot out, glowing faintly with spatial energy as he expertly extracted the spider’s ten gleaming eyes—each one like a perfect orb of purple lightning swirling behind translucent membranes.

He stowed them away in his spatial space even as electric sparks danced around his fingers from residual energy still clinging to the monstrous creature’s corpse.
