Chapter 1218: Chapter 1217: Bamboo Banana Panda, The Great Battle with Heavenly King Xiang

The earth trembled and split apart, with fissures spreading outward from the ground.

Xu Zimei looked up and saw a colossal stone giant emerging amidst the ruins.

It resembled a magma beast, its charred stone body ablaze with molten streams of fire.

A low, guttural growl echoed from its mouth.

“It’s a beast formed by a formation,” Ji Jiuning said solemnly.

“How about we join forces to deal with it?”

Xu Zimei glanced at her but said nothing, the Tyrant Shadow in his hand unleashing a heaven-shaking blade momentum.

The blade radiance whistled sharply, its dazzling brilliance illuminating the world before erupting outward.

The blade momentum tore through the deep pit, carving out a bottomless chasm in the earth.

Soon, the heaven-shaking blade momentum engulfed everything.

The magma beast let out a final roar but had no chance to move before disintegrating into ash.

“You…” Ji Jiuning was momentarily stunned.

“Do you realize how redundant you are?” Xu Zimei asked as he turned to her.

Standing upright, he gazed at the spot where the magma beast had vanished, where a red-and-yellow gemstone had appeared.

Grasping the gemstone, a number “100” instantly materialized before him.

“What is this?” Xu Zimei frowned slightly.

“It’s the score system for the competition,” Ji Jiuning explained.

“This battlefield is like a contest. Killing enemies will grant you points.

Whoever has the highest score at the end will be the victor.”

She smiled lightly and added, “Of course, if you kill all your opponents, it’s essentially the same as being number one.”

“Understood,” Xu Zimei nodded, then drew his blade and pointed it at Ji Jiuning.

“Then you count as points too.”

“Young Master wouldn’t be so ruthless, would he?” Ji Jiuning paused for a moment before chuckling.

“If you keep me alive, I can help you understand things here. Killing me would only net you a few points.

It wouldn’t change the outcome.”

“You’re saying your existence has more value than points?” Xu Zimei retorted.

“To be honest, I possess part of the map to this battlefield,” Ji Jiuning suddenly revealed.

“And I’m supposed to believe that?” Xu Zimei smirked.

“It was brought in by a senior from our Northern Hill clan during the previous cycle. Unfortunately, he died here.

The map was ultimately lost.”

“Since it’s gone, how can you talk of having it?” Xu Zimei asked.

“Our Northern Hill Fox Clan has a custom. Before death, every member hides their most important items in their own Monster Realm,” Ji Jiuning explained.

“As long as we find the senior’s remains, I can open his Monster Realm and retrieve the map.”

At this point, Ji Jiuning added, “Our Northern Hill Fox Clan has a unique ability to detect scents. As long as we’re within range, I can sense the senior’s presence.”

Her speech quickened, having felt the murderous intent emanating from Xu Zimei.

This man was nothing like the persona he projected.

“Three days. If you don’t find the map, you’ll lose your purpose,” Xu Zimei said after a brief pause.

“A-agreed,” Ji Jiuning nodded slightly.

She felt things were diverging greatly from her expectations. Her original aim was cooperation, seeking the culprit.

Now she was hanging by a thread just to survive.

“Let’s go,” Xu Zimei sheathed his blade and strode toward the edge of the ruins.

The two walked only a short distance before rounding the dilapidated buildings of the ruins, where a tropical rainforest emerged ahead.

Rows of banana trees, shaped like giant fan blades, obscured half the sky, their lush green leaves carrying the humid atmosphere and forming a palpable presence.

The trunks bore saw-like marks, their circular rings clear and distinct.

“I hear the sounds of fighting,” Xu Zimei muttered to himself.

His gaze fell on the rainforest, where hazy mist draped the forest in a mysterious veil.

With his right foot stepping forward, he charged directly into the jungle.

As soon as he entered, a disorienting dizziness overtook him, the moist heat rising from the ground like a sauna.

“This mist is toxic,” Ji Jiuning followed behind, warning him.

After running for six or seven minutes, Xu Zimei finally reached the source of the sounds—a battleground.

The banana trees in this area had been razed to the ground, with remnants of trunks cut cleanly by blades.

A figure shrouded in blood-red battled a panda.

Xu Zimei had seen that blood-red figure before—it was Heavenly King Xiang from the Dragon Demon Sect.

At this moment, Xiang resembled an enraged Bull Demon, his muscles bulging, his posture beast-like.

His robes had transformed into armor.

Wielding a massive hammer, each of his blows created countless deep craters in the ground.

Opposing him, the panda wore a bamboo hat and carried a green staff. Despite its plump body, it was remarkably agile.

It darted around the banana trees with ease, effortlessly evading Xiang’s attacks.

“Stupid Bull Demon, can’t hit me, can’t hit me,” the panda teased playfully, sticking out its tongue as it dodged.

When Xu Zimei and Ji Jiuning arrived, both combatants paused their chase.

“Well, things are getting lively. More people have joined the fun,” the panda said with a grin.

Heavenly King Xiang cast a wary glance at Xu Zimei and tentatively suggested, “Shall we team up?”

Unsure of Xu Zimei’s reaction, he quickly added, “That’s a Bamboo Banana Panda. Killing it earns you ten thousand points.”

“You two can keep chatting. Master Xiong won’t stick around,” the panda laughed heartily, sensing the changing mood.

It turned and dashed deeper into the rainforest.

However, neither Xu Zimei nor Heavenly King Xiang pursued the panda. Instead, they locked eyes, the tension between them mounting.

“Kill!” With a deep bellow, Xiang roared furiously, his two black horns hurtling straight at Xu Zimei.

Xu Zimei stood firm, grabbing the Bull Demon’s horns tightly with both hands.

The monstrous force propelled him backward as Xiang relentlessly pushed forward.

“Young Master Xu, let me help!” Ji Jiuning’s voice rang out from the side.

Behind her, nine purple tails emerged, surrounded by swirling spiritual energy that radiated in all directions.

The tails extended to a length of over a hundred meters, wrapping themselves around Xiang.

“Break through a thousand layers!” Xiang roared, shattering Ji Jiuning’s restraint as he lunged to crush Xu Zimei into pulp.

In one swift move, Xu Zimei flipped onto Xiang’s back.

He seized both horns, and Xiang—the Bull Demon—struggled violently.

The surrounding banana trees were repeatedly snapped and toppled.

“Kneel!” Xu Zimei shouted, his right hand transforming into a fist that smashed heavily into the Bull Demon’s neck.

Xiang wailed, his massive form collapsing to the ground.

Dust billowed in all directions.

“Get off!” Xiang bellowed angrily.

His muscles tensed as he threw Xu Zimei off his back.

Shrouded in dark demonic mist, Xiang’s horns hurtled toward Xu Zimei’s abdomen.
