- Chapter 1225: Seven Kills, The Universe’s Myriad Entities and the Seven-Star Sword
“I don’t believe a word you say,” Sage Lv replied indifferently.
“The world reveres the White Emperor yet knows not that he is the true fiend.”
“Sage Lv, that’s not entirely correct,” the scholar-robed man shook his head with a smile.
“To become an emperor, to achieve sainthood, whose hands in history have not been drenched in blood?
Even you, Sage Lv, are no exception.”
Hearing the scholar-robed man’s words, Sage Lv fell silent, clearly unwilling to argue further.
Stepping out of the grand hall, Xu Zimei noticed the entire city had returned to normal once more.
Ji Jiuning was sitting cross-legged nearby, healing her injuries.
Noticing Xu Zimei exit, she quickly stood up and asked, “What’s inside?”
“If I told you Sage Lv, would you believe me?” Xu Zimei responded with a question of his own.
“You met Sage Lv?” Ji Jiuning was taken aback and pressed further, “Sage Lv is still alive?”
“Not much different from a walking corpse,” Xu Zimei waved dismissively.
“Let’s move!”
“To where?” Ji Jiuning asked hurriedly.
“To kill them all,” Xu Zimei said calmly, looking upward.
“The Five Great Sects, the Three Academies.
Besides Heavenly King Xiang and yourself, there are five others.”
“But this Battlefield of Ultimate Confrontation is vast; finding them won’t be easy.”
“That’s not a problem. The battlefield will shrink over time,” Ji Jiuning explained.
“As long as you’re alive, you’ll meet them eventually.”
“What do you mean?” Xu Zimei frowned and asked.
“Surrounding this battlefield is dense death aura that will contract as time passes.
Even a Great Emperor cannot withstand it if they remain in that aura for long,” Ji Jiuning explained further. “So ultimately, everyone will converge at the center.”
“Interesting,” Xu Zimei nodded slightly.
“But if we could find the map our former Northern Hill senior brought in,
We’d know the layout here and secure an advantageous position,” Ji Jiuning explained.
As they spoke, the two had already left the city.
Their previous journey had been southbound, so this time, they headed north.
Xu Zimei already had a rough route planned: from the ruins to the Banana Forest, then to the Lone City. What would be the next stop, though, he had no idea.
Trekking through the plains outside the city, there were no trees in sight for thousands of miles, only patches of green grass beneath their feet breaking the monotony.
Far in the distance, Xu Zimei caught sight of a faintly discernible village.
As he and Ji Jiuning approached, the first thing they noticed was the metallic tang of blood in the air.
His eyes fell upon a nearby stone monument, on which the words ‘White Wood Village’ were engraved.
Stepping into the village, green blood spattered on the ground continually, and the corpses of the White Wood Trees lay chaotically across the road.
All living things possess spirit, and these White Wood Trees, too, had cultivated spirits of their own. Yet now, someone unknown had slain them.
The duo ventured further in.
Corpses of White Wood Trees littered the path increasingly, a clear sign this was a considerably large village.
Heading to its innermost depths, they found that every White Wood Tree had been slain. Only a single silhouette loomed, back turned toward them.
The figure was clad in form-fitting black garments, with two blades—one long and one short—sheathed at their sides.
Short hair fell neatly to frame her ears, and intense killing intent surged like a furious tide within the scent of blood.
“Who are you?” Ji Jiuning was the first to break the silence.
“Seven Killings,” the woman turned her head slowly and smirked. “Young Master Xu, your memory truly fails you.”
“So it’s you,” Xu Zimei responded with a chuckle.
“I didn’t think I’d find you without any effort.”
The two locked eyes, narrowing their gazes. Subtle killing intent flared between them, rising and falling like turbulent waves in the air.
“How fitting. The humiliation suffered by the Nine Ghosts Academy can now be avenged,” Seven Killings said coldly, drawing her mismatched blades.
Though not a direct product of the Nine Ghosts Academy, she had been taught by the Nine Mountain Ghosts and naturally carried deep loyalty to the Academy.
The long and short blades twirled in her hands as sharp Sword Intent swept through the surroundings.
A gentle wind blew past, scattering Sword Qi into the breeze. Even before Xu Zimei saw the Sword Qi, a few strands of black hair had already fallen from his head.
Next came the piercing chill of cold steel at his throat.
Raising Tyrant Shadow to guard his neck, he heard a resounding “Clang!” as blade collided with sword.
Xu Zimei’s arm trembled slightly from the impact.
The short blade spun in mid-air before returning deftly to Seven Killings’ grasp.
Ji Jiuning’s expression shifted subtly, and the White Fox spirit emerged behind her, growling lowly.
The White Fox lunged at Seven Killings without hesitation.
“Back away!” Xu Zimei shouted.
But by the time he spoke, it was already too late.
As the White Fox pounced, Seven Killings’ eyes gleamed, her pupils transforming into a triangular shape.
Her two blades spun rapidly as she stepped forward, her Sword Qi surging fiercely around her.
With a series of resounding clashes, her long and short blades shredded the White Fox’s body instantly—a display of terrifyingly swift swordsmanship.
In mere seconds, the mighty North Fox disintegrated into fragments of flesh.
Though the White Fox was merely a condensed spirit manifestation, the injuries it suffered were tangibly real.
As the White Fox perished, Ji Jiuning spat a mouthful of blood, and her face turned ashen pale.
“Step back. I’ll handle her,” Xu Zimei said, gesturing for her to retreat.
His gaze met Seven Killings’. The name “Seven Killings
In astrological terms, it referred to the sixth star of the Big Dipper constellation, known as the Seven Killings Star.
It symbolized carnage and was the most malevolent of stars within the Starry Heavens.
Seven Killings wielded her long and short blades as Sword Winds swirled, charging at Xu Zimei.
Xu Zimei brandished Tyrant Shadow and struck with a furious slash.
With the sound of two successive clashes, both the long and short blades snapped into fragments.
Seven Killings glanced at the broken swords in her hands and said nonchalantly, “Good blade.”
“Sword!” she called sharply, raising her right hand toward the void above her head.
A tremendous wave of Sword Intent descended at once.

Though it was a gray and murky daytime, the Firmament above suddenly lit up with countless stars.
They were the astral manifestations of the Seven Killings Star.
“On the day I was born, the heavens rained down the Seven-Star Sword, and the imprint of the Seven Killings Star was etched upon my chest,” Seven Killings said calmly.
“From that moment, my teacher named me Seven Killings.”
As she finished speaking, a sword glowing with starlight descended from above.
Its blade seemed carved from the essence of stars themselves.
Radiating brilliance, the starlight cascaded like a nebula waterfall. Yet within the splendor lay an unmistakable, suppressed bloodlust that could not be diminished.
Seven Killings slowly raised the Seven-Star Sword, which continued to emit rays of starlight.
“The myriad of beings, sixty-two in all, united beneath the Seven-Star Sword.”
Xu Zimei chuckled lightly but did not introduce himself. The Tyrant Shadow at his side, now fused with the Xuan Yuan Sword,
Was likely unmatched by any Divine Weapon in existence.
The Seven-Star Sword lunged, its tip pulsing with astral light, illuminating Xu Zimei’s eyes.
Xu Zimei swung Tyrant Shadow forcefully once more, and another thunderous clash erupted as blade met blade. Starlight and Blade Intent clashed violently.
The two figures briefly crossed paths before separating once again.
