- Chapter 1228: When Evil Demons Emerge, Plucking the Moon Reappears
“Sin Prison has always been part of the Evil Sect,” Ji Jiuning replied.
“Their cultivation techniques are all rooted in corrupted qi; it’s not surprising.”
“He doesn’t seem to be absorbing the corrupted qi,” Xu Zimei frowned and shook his head.
“Instead, he’s channeling his own corrupted qi into this Evil Demon Tower.”
“What’s he trying to do?” Ji Jiuning asked with a frown.
“It doesn’t matter what he’s trying to do; we’ve encountered him, and that’s enough,” Xu Zimei said.
With a casual wave, his right hand turned into a blade, and the Boundless Blade Intent slashed forward.
The Ghost Crown Prince, who had been sitting high above, abruptly opened his eyes as a mass of Sen Luo Ghost Qi erupted outward.
The Ghost Qi collided with the Blade Qi, both dissipating into the void.
The Ghost Crown Prince glanced downward, as though shaking the entire Evil Demon Tower.
“Why?” he asked, his voice thin and sharp.
“What are you doing here?” Xu Zimei questioned.
“What does it matter to you?” the Ghost Crown Prince responded coolly.
“Leave now, or perish!”
As he uttered the word “perish,” waves of dense black corrupted qi surged from all around him. Countless ghostly heads roared as they descended from above.
Floating in the void, the heads resembled an endless ghostly prison, constantly writhing and struggling.
Xu Zimei said nothing, slowly drawing out Tyrant Shadow. The Divine Blade emerging from its scabbard conveyed his intent without words.
The Ghost Crown Prince scoffed coldly. He still did not rise to his feet, merely spreading his palms wide.
Vast amounts of corrupted qi erupted outward, transforming into countless ghostly heads that dove down from the firmament.
Each ghostly head bared its teeth and claws, as though attempting to devour everything in its path. They ripped through the silent void, accompanied by the endless black corrupted qi within the Evil Demon Tower, all crashing downward.
“North Fox Demon Realm,” Ji Jiuning extended her hand, and instantly, a white North Fox materialized into a streak of light, shielding the two of them.
As the tidal wave of corrupted qi descended, Ji Jiuning let out a stifled groan but managed to hold off the attack.
“Leave him to me. I’ll go inside the Evil Demon Tower and take a look,” Xu Zimei said.
“Aren’t you being a bit reckless?” Ji Jiuning replied.
“It’s not recklessness; I just need to uncover some truths,” Xu Zimei shook his head.
The Tyrant Shadow behind him cleaved outward, a single strike darkened half the sky, annihilating all the corrupted qi around them.
He then made a swift dash toward the interior of the Evil Demon Tower.
“Stay!” the Ghost Crown Prince shouted angrily.
Xu Zimei suddenly heard two distinct voices by his ears—one laughing, the other crying. In an instant, he saw two ghostly children leaping toward him.
“Divine Soul attack?” Xu Zimei sneered.
“Get lost.”
His Nine Regions Grand Body activated its natural defenses, and the powerful force shattered the two ghostly children in the void.
Immediately, his figure disappeared into the depths of the Evil Demon Tower.
“Damn it,” the Ghost Crown Prince snorted coldly as he slowly stood up.
Before he could make his next move, Ji Jiuning was already commanding the massive North Fox to charge toward him.
The two figures began clashing intensely.
Inside the Evil Demon Tower, just as Xu Zimei entered, a mass of purple vapor surged toward him.
He drew his blade to block, and with a resounding “boom,” the powerful force exploded, sending him crashing into a nearby wall.
Xu Zimei looked up, finally discerning the vapor’s shape.
It was a purple sphere drenched in dense corrupted qi, adorned with a human face.
“A perfect vessel to carry my consciousness,” the human-faced vapor sneered darkly.
“Who are you?” Xu Zimei asked.
“Entering the Evil Demon Tower means your fate is sealed; there’s no need for past inquiries,” the purple face declared coldly.

With this, the heavy doors of the Evil Demon Tower slammed shut with a loud “bang,” sealing off all exits.
“Then I’d certainly like to see what secrets lie within,” Xu Zimei smirked.
He raised Tyrant Shadow high, the Heaven Shaking Blade Intent swirling around him. He struck at the purple face with overwhelming force.
As the blade descended, the purple face let out a pained shriek. Xu Zimei’s attacks chained seamlessly together, each strike bursting with relentless power.
After only a few blows, the purple vapor had already dimmed considerably.
“Boy, you’ll never escape the Evil Demon Tower alive,” the purple vapor spat before retreating further inside.
Tyrant Shadow cleaved through the void, striking the vapor and pinning it against the wall.
At that moment, the sound of clapping echoed.
“After countless years, a newcomer has finally arrived,” said a man as he stepped out, clad in a robe of red and yellow fur.
The man had a human face but sported two jade-white fangs. His sunken eyes and sharp nose gave him a strikingly sinister appearance.
A stone throne stood directly ahead, and the tusked man sat down upon it slowly, smiling as he gazed at Xu Zimei.
“Welcome to the West Evil Demon Tower.”
“I’m here to uncover some truths,” Xu Zimei said calmly.
“Two choices: tell me directly, or I’ll beat it out of you.”
“Newcomers these days certainly lack courtesy,” the tusked man chuckled, clapping his hands again.
The entire Evil Demon Tower began to rotate.
In an instant, the surrounding walls cracked open, and a horde of Monster Beasts armed with various weapons emerged.
Among them were Berserk Rupture Earth Tigers, Canglan Ice Crystal Beasts, Crimson Blood Thunder Pythons, Mysterious Heaven Silkworms… and more.
Xu Zimei saw countless humanoid Monster Beasts.
“Care to repeat what you just said?” the tusked man sneered.
Xu Zimei let out a laugh of his own, gripping Tyrant Shadow tightly as he charged at the tusked man.
“Kill him,” the tusked man leaned back in his chair and waved his hand. Instantly, the swarm of Monster Beasts rushed toward Xu Zimei.
The scene descended into utter chaos.
In a distant void at the Battlefield of Ultimate Confrontation.
A scholar-robed man and a child servant slowly made their way through.
“How much longer do you think we’ll have to stay here?” the child servant asked.
“Don’t ask,” the scholar-robed man shook his head.
“The White Emperor himself the child servant began but abruptly fell silent midway.
His gaze was drawn forward, where a lithe figure had appeared in the void without warning.
“Who are you?” the scholar-robed man asked, his aura exuding a palpable sense of danger.
The lithe figure turned slowly.
It was the Moon-picking Fairy.
Previously, when Miss Jing had left, she had disappeared along with the Moon-picking Fairy.
The Moon-picking Fairy remained silent, merely producing an insignia and flashing it before the two.
“You… You’re the scholar-robed man hastily knelt.
“Knowing is enough; there’s no need to speak aloud,” the Moon-picking Fairy replied, her voice cold and devoid of emotion.
“I am here to deliver a warning: the demon has emerged!”
Upon hearing this, the scholar-robed man froze. “You must be joking. The demon… has emerged?”
“Surely you understand
“I don’t need you to remind me,” the Moon-picking Fairy interrupted coldly.
“Just follow your orders. The rest is not for you to concern yourself with.”
“Understood,” the scholar-robed man bowed, his expression flickering with uncertainty.
When he looked up again, the Moon-picking Fairy had already vanished.
