“I have no intention of getting married, old man, so there’s no need to bring it up again,” Xu Zimei waved his hand and said with a smile.

The old man chuckled and clinked glasses with Xu Zimei once more.

“Young master, how does this wine taste?” he asked.

“Excellent,” Xu Zimei nodded in agreement.

“Our village is called Forgetfulness Village because of this wine,” the old man said with a peculiar smile.

“This wine is also known as Forgetfulness Liquor.”

“Oh?” Xu Zimei said, surprised. “Could it be that drinking it causes amnesia?”

“How are you feeling now, young master?” the old man stood up and asked.

“I don’t feel any different,” Xu Zimei replied.

The old man frowned slightly, and suddenly countless branches emerged from the ground, binding Xu Zimei firmly in place.

“Who exactly are you, young master?” Several old men stepped back a few steps and asked aloud.

“Your question is amusing—I was just about to ask who you all are,” Xu Zimei replied, standing up and effortlessly breaking free of the branches’ bindings with sheer strength, and smiled.

“When I first arrived at this Forgetfulness Village, I noticed that you were all tree spirits taking human form.

But now you’re shrouded in death energy, and who knows how long it has been since you died.”

“Take him down first and figure it out later,” the leading elder snorted coldly.

In an instant, two enormous ginseng trees at the village entrance began to rotate, transforming the entire village into a labyrinth.

Meanwhile, all the villagers turned into pitch-black, deathly trees exuding thick, oppressive death energy.

The surroundings, once vibrant with birdsong and fragrant flowers, lush with Gloomy Trees, became desolate black soil in the blink of an eye.

All traces of life vanished; the ground began to tremble as gravestones emerged abruptly from beneath the earth.

This place had turned into an offshoot of the Chaotic Burial Valley.

Several crows flew through the void, and the decaying trees seemed to grow legs, all charging toward Xu Zimei.

Xu Zimei frowned slightly, and the Flame Principle in his hand began to manifest.

Flames—natural enemies of trees, wood, and related elements.

A tremendous fire ignited from the void, scorching the earth and reducing the advancing trees to ashes with crackling explosions.

A ghostly wail, “wooo-wooo,” drifted on the wind.

It almost sounded like the mournful cries of people.

“Seems like somebody’s set on giving me trouble,” Xu Zimei said with a smile, surveying his surroundings.

“In that case, cutting a bloody path forward doesn’t sound too bad either.”

The Blade Intent around him surged, and his Tyrant Shadow slashed horizontally before him, now held firmly in his right hand.

The sheer force of the unleashed Blade Intent obliterated everything in its path, leaving no trace behind.

When Xu Zimei looked up again, skeletal figures were crawling out from the gravestones ahead.

Countless enormous trees sprouted legs, gathering together to arrange themselves into a mystical formation.

The formation was shrouded in dark, poisonous energy, resembling the undercurrent of the Yellow Springs; shadows of ghosts filled the forest around.

“Just a rabble,” Xu Zimei sneered coldly.

The flames swirling around him burned brightly, reducing everything within a few miles to ashes.

Xu Zimei tossed the Traceless Compass into the void.

The compass whirled continuously, its Bagua positions shifting unpredictably.

In an instant, the compass opened a Heaven-reaching Path.

Light radiated outward, illuminating the surroundings.

Interestingly, from an outsider’s perspective, Xu Zimei seemed to have entered a state of absolute clarity.

In this state, his eyes functioned as though they’d delved into a microscopic realm, discerning heavenly mysteries; signs of good fortune or calamity lay plainly before him.

Several colors floated in flux around him.

Each color represented a different omen, some great misfortunes, others immense blessings.

Xu Zimei chuckled softly. With this compass, he’d at least avoid getting lost in the Chaotic Burial Valley.

Following the direction indicated by great fortune, he forged ahead, the Traceless Compass hovering above his head.

His Blade Intent extended thousands of miles, carving through the Eight Desolates and Six Directions with unmatched ferocity.

………

In a hidden corner of the Chaotic Burial Valley.

Sounds of raucous laughter and celebration filled the air; countless Little White Bone Demons were clustered together in reverence.

Sitting at the top of it all was a massive, sharp-snouted, monkey-faced rat.

Its body was covered in yellow fur, and it lazily chewed on an enormous piece of cheese, reclining in a chair while snoring loudly.

Soap-like bubbles formed at its mouth, some large enough to rival a dozen soccer balls.

Beneath it, the Little White Bone Demons were drinking, shouting, and carousing with unbridled joy.

“Our Chaotic Burial Valley is one of the great forbidden lands in the Ghost God Realm,” one Little White Bone Demon boasted loudly.

“Exactly! Even the Great Emperor would have to take our moods into account if they ventured here,” another bone creature responded smugly.

“Out there, we might be insignificant, but here? Here, this is the domain of us Dead Spirits.”

“Shh! Keep your voice down. Don’t wake the king, or there’ll be hell to pay.”

“Whose turn is it to guard the pass recently?”

“I think it’s Old Bone’s. But judging by the time, why’s he still not back yet?

Did he hook a big fish or something?”

While the Little White Bone Demons were embroiled in wild speculation, one suddenly ran in, screaming and stumbling over itself.

“King! Something terrible has happened—something terrible!”

The massive rat on the throne stirred from its sleep, its bubbles popping as it opened its impatient eyes and grabbed the Little White Bone Demon with one paw.

“Waking me up from my nap—what, has the sky fallen?”

“Not quite,” the Little White Bone Demon stammered in fear.

Before it could finish, there was a loud “smack” as it was slapped and sent flying.

“If the sky hasn’t fallen, what are you yelling about?” the rat king demanded.

“There’s an incredibly powerful guy out there, tearing through everything in his path. He’s almost reached the lair!”

The Little White Bone Demon explained tearfully in grievance.

“And the White Bone Demon guarding the lair?” the rat king inquired further.

“Killed with a single strike! The White Bone King is holding him off for now,” the Little White Bone Demon said hastily.

“A bunch of useless fools. Come on, let’s see for ourselves,” the rat king rose, its corpulent body swaying as it walked, each step causing the ground to quake.

Leading countless Little White Bone Demons, it swaggered outside in grandeur.

………

The White Bone Forest was chillingly cold.

Countless eerie gravestones stood upright, and faint noises of bones shattering could be heard.

Occasionally, a few leaves drifted gently past on the wind.

Xu Zimei faced a colossal figure towering before him, the White Bone King, whose entire body was made of razor-sharp bones.

The jutting bones protruded like inverted blades, sharper than any sword light.

When Xu Zimei swung Tyrant Shadow at him, a massive explosion resounded.

The White Bone King was cleaved in two, his bones splintering apart. Yet in moments, the broken bones reassembled themselves.

“In this place, you can’t kill me,” the White Bone King laughed triumphantly.

“There are countless bones here; I’ll never run out of replacement parts.”

“Oh, is that so?” Xu Zimei responded, raising his gaze toward him.

With a sweep of Tyrant Shadow, he pointed it toward the firmament, summoning a thunderous bolt of lightning that cleaved through the Nine Heavens like the awakening of the Mysterious Thunder.

The cascading lightning, a veritable prison of ten thousand bolts, descended from the firmament, enveloping the White Bone King completely.

In the next moment, screams echoed incessantly.

“Didn’t you master fire? How do you command thunderbolts too?” the White Bone King cried out in desperation.
