Chapter 1700: Chapter 144: Blood Sacrifice of All Living Beings

“Welcome back, Sect Master!”

Whoosh—

Accompanied by several cultivators, Shen Fu descended with a cold expression straight into the primitive Demonic Sect.

With Evergoat Divine Mountain taken by Han Yanzi, the only thing left in this domain was a shocking blood-red depression.

Seeing Shen Fu’s icy demeanor, the cultivators guarding the formation didn’t dare provoke him. After a respectful salute, they quickly stepped aside.

Shen Fu paid no attention, his gaze holding a barely noticeable urgency and impatience as he scanned the Sect surroundings.

Yet, he saw no flaws.

“He couldn’t have taken it all away…”

In Shen Fu’s heart, thoughts raced:

“Han Yanzi has always been cautious, like a crafty hare with three burrows… The two from the Qin Family who reached Immortal Ascension, he didn’t kill them but left them separately, likely intending to refine them into one of the Nine Offspring…”

“With two by his side, given his nature, there must still be more in the Sect.”

“Where? It should be in the previous Dungeon… But where is the Dungeon hidden?”

Shen Fu anxiously scanned the surroundings again, his Spiritual Sense sweeping over repeatedly.

Han Yanzi rarely leaves the Sect alone, especially when he himself is still within.

This is why it’s one of the few opportunities he could exploit.

Once Han Yanzi completes harvesting from the Martial Kingdom and returns to the Sect, there won’t be such an opportune moment again.

Thus, he must conduct this search while Han Yanzi is away from the Sect, as it might be his last chance.

“Xi Yin… is he still around?”

Resolving his thoughts, Shen Fu dismissed the cultivators following him. He slightly opened his palm, summoning a dark Treasure Cauldron with four legs and two ears.

Murmuring a spell, the Treasure Cauldron emitted a faint light, flickering like it’s about to go out.

With the cauldron in his hand, Shen Fu began measuring the Sect.

…

“Sect Master Shen Fu of the Demon Sect has retreated to the Sect. Evergoat Divine Mountain is now on Huangji Continent, ready to trigger a great battle anytime.”

Pearl Dungeon.

Zhao Feng sat opposite Wang Ba, face slightly somber.

Wang Ba, however, smiled calmly:

“No problem, the more Han Yanzi takes action, the more flaws will be revealed… But you just said the Sect Master has returned to the Demon Sect?”

Seeing Wang Ba’s ‘smile,’ Zhao Feng felt slightly uneasy, nodding:

“Rumor has it he was seriously injured in a duel with Yi An, and indeed our people near the Demon Sect saw him return.”

“By the way, this Demon Sect Master, is your Junior Brother, Shen Fu, right?”

Wang Ba nodded gently, contemplating:

“Yi An is familiar with my Junior Brother, and given Yi An’s personality, he wouldn’t strike hard. So this so-called serious injury is likely self-inflicted by my Junior Brother.”

He didn’t contact Shen Fu, as the latter was in the Demon Sect and might be facing some crisis at the moment.

Upon hearing this, Zhao Feng’s heart was stirred, a look of surprise crossed his face:

“Could he be planning…”

“Indeed.”

Wang Ba nodded, almost omniscient in understanding the purpose of Shen Fu’s actions.

His voice deepened:

“It seems he has sensed something.”

Zhao Feng frowned:

“Even if he finds a flaw in Han Yanzi, with no one to hold him back, it would be to no avail… Junior Brother, are we really just going to watch this Great Catastrophe unfold? When will we act?”

Feeling Zhao Feng’s rare hesitation, Wang Ba slowly stood up, walked past Zhao Feng, and looked up at the sky with his hands behind his back. In his indifferent eyes appeared a seldom-seen profoundness. He spoke in a low voice:

“No destruction, no construction. By my original temperament, I would’ve long intervened, but the outcome would be unpredictable, likely catastrophic and perhaps even wiping out the entire Sect’s wealth—a possibility not to be disregarded. However, now that I’ve merged with my Incarnation, refining emotion until impassive, free from the constraints of emotions, I can peel back layer upon layer of fog and see the road ahead clearly.”

“What did you see?”

Zhao Feng couldn’t help but ask.

“A crisis that could change you and me, alter the fate of this realm, yet it’s also an opportunity few can seize.”

Wang Ba didn’t turn back, calmly describing his visions.

Upon hearing this, Zhao Feng frowned even deeper.

As Sect Master, his concerns were different; he didn’t yearn for the so-called grand opportunity, but cared solely about one thing:

“Will the Wanxiang Sect… still survive?”

This time, Wang Ba subtly shook his head:

“I don’t know.”

“Don’t know?”

Zhao Feng couldn’t help but rise, displaying anger for the first time.

Turning to face Zhao Feng, Wang Ba’s expression was candid and calm:

“With the world in upheaval, the sun and moon suspended, who can be sure of anything?”

“If Han Yanzi dares to gamble, why shouldn’t we?”

“Don’t you see, Senior Brother? Or has the position of Sect Master dulled your sword energy and decayed your Sword Heart?”

“If so, I only regret confining you to the Sect Master role before, wasting your talents.”

Zhao Feng trembled, his gaze shifting, seemingly grasping something.

Wang Ba continued calmly, but his words carried a coldness that chilled Zhao Feng’s heart:

“To fear death… is to ensure death. I originally didn’t want you to intervene, truly not wishing for your demise… Yet now I understand, given the inevitable arrival of the Great Catastrophe, all must serve to overcome it, even death must be valuable.”

His gaze met Zhao Feng’s calmly:

“So, you ask when I will act…”

“I don’t know either.”

“Perhaps now, perhaps any moment… or perhaps we’ll wait and watch as you all fall.”
