- Chapter 1086 - 1041: Once Again like a Turtle in a Jar
The Central Four States of the Immortal Alliance were marked in the Heaven and Earth by an extremely clear dividing line.
On both sides of the dividing line, the scenery above the land and the azure sky corresponded with each other.
It was as if a mirror had split the Heaven and Earth apart.
The cracks spreading out from the dividing line seemed to suggest that this part of Heaven and Earth was about to collapse!
Witnessing this scene like an apocalypse, Li Fan’s spirit consciousness suddenly realized, “So it turns out that Tianyu, Tianchen, Tianshu, and Tianquan, these most central states of the Immortal Alliance, were actually crafted from the main body of the Tianxuan Mirror!”
“To alter Heaven and Earth with a mirror…”
Li Fan’s expression gradually became serious.
This crucial piece of information had never been mentioned by the Tianxuan Mirror before.
It either meant that the Tianxuan Mirror’s desire for freedom was false, and it had simply put on an act before Li Fan and Mo Rubing for the sake of luring them into a trap.
Or it meant that even the Tianxuan Mirror itself had forgotten that its main body had been used to construct the terrain of the Xuan Huang Four States!
The uneasiness in his heart grew thicker, and Mo Rubing had not shown himself for a long time.
Li Fan had wanted to leave directly, but when he quietly flew to the border of Tianquan Province, he was somewhat shocked to discover that the Element Devouring White Fog, which had previously spanned between Heaven and Earth, had disappeared without a trace.
In its place was an invisible and intangible barrier that sealed off all of the Four States!
No entry or exit was possible!
At this sight, Li Fan suddenly remembered the time he first saw the Crimson Blaze Ocean, fled in a panic, but got trapped within the Misthaven Ocean!
However, compared to back then, Li Fan had grown too much.
Without becoming overly panicked, Li Fan steadied himself and returned to the center of Tianquan Province, where he casually found a cultivator’s Cave Mansion to sneak into and begin hibernation.
With the Final Separation Disk in hand, the Array Techniques guarding these Cave Mansions were completely negligible to him.
The architecture inside the Cave Mansion was in the style of a waterside residence, showing no signs of being inhabited by cultivators.
It was probably just one of the many properties owned by the master of the Cave Mansion.
However, all the facilities that should be present were there, and Li Fan found the Tianxuan Fragmented Mirror and carefully tried the source of the Tianxuan Mirror he carried.
“It hasn’t stopped working.”
“Many discussions about disturbances in the Four States have appeared in the Tianxuan Mirror, but the moment they crop up, they’re locked and deleted.”
“Fortunately, I can still see the posting logs.”
Li Fan quickly scanned the information in the Tianxuan Mirror.
“What’s going on? Is the sky falling down?”
“Could it be the Five Elders Organization attacking us again? I knew it; after such a big setback last time, there’s no way they’d just let things be!”
“All the teleportation methods have failed, and we can’t get in or out! The Central Four States have been completely sealed off!”
“Fellow Daoists, it’s best to hide in the Cave Mansion for refuge and not venture out recklessly. I say no more…”
…
Most of the posts were worthless expressions of panic by the cultivators.
But with so many cultivators posting, Li Fan still found some useful information.
“Big trouble! I just came out of the Immortal Alliance Headquarters, and it looks like a fight has broken out inside!”
“Stop spreading rumors. The Immortal Alliance Headquarters is such an important place; who would dare to fight there recklessly?”
“I saw it with my own eyes! Just as I was about to leave, I heard a massive explosion. Then, I vaguely saw over a hundred shadows suddenly burst forth! That was close; I almost couldn’t make it out.”
“Hiss…”
The conversation stopped abruptly there.
There were also other cultivators inquiring about sudden expulsions from the Immortal Alliance Headquarters.
“It aligns with the plan I discussed with Morubin…”
Li Fan pondered for a moment, then took out a white jade horn and crushed it fiercely.
Moments later, a sharp sound that only certain cultivators could hear spread out from this place.
This was the signal for the Death Warriors of the Five Elders Organization to take action.
From afar, nearly a hundred black shadows were seen flying into the Immortal Alliance Headquarters through the cracks between Heaven and Earth, while Li Fan had prudently moved to another Cave Mansion to conceal himself.
“No idea what exactly happened inside.”
Before figuring it out, Li Fan did not act rashly but chose to quietly observe the changes.
The rumbling noises in the world grew louder and louder.
The accumulated fissures were becoming more and more, striking fear into the hearts. It seemed as though the fabric of Heaven and Earth would split open at any moment.
What made the cultivators of the Four States even more uneasy was that, with such a huge disturbance, there was still no one from the Immortal Alliance Headquarters coming forward to explain the situation and provide reassurance.
This fear lasted for a good half an incense stick’s time.
The continuous thunderous noises gradually subsided, and the cracks that pierced through the vault of Heaven and Earth slowly closed up.
A cultivator’s figure appeared in the vault of Heaven, and Li Fan recognized the person instantly.
One of the Dharma Transmitters, Chen.
His expression was serious, and his eyes revealed a killing intent.
Chen’s voice, thunderous, spread throughout Heaven and Earth, declaring that the minor disturbance within the Immortal Alliance had been quelled. There was no need for panic.
However, to thoroughly investigate the accomplices of the thieves, the seal on the Four States would not be lifted for the time being.
The cultivators of the Four States must cooperate with the investigation.
…
After speaking, Chen hastily left, disappearing from the vault of Heaven.
Leaving behind the cultivators of the Four States in a flurry of discussion, uneasy in their minds.
“Could it be that Mo Rubing was caught?” Li Fan couldn’t help but think this in his heart.
But then he thought again. Mo Rubing’s Techniques were tricky; even if things were exposed, it probably wouldn’t be so easy to capture him. Thus his mind felt slightly at ease.
In the days that followed, Li Fan concealed himself in a new hideout for another three days. He maintained the highest alert, to avoid exposing himself.
During this period, black-clothed cultivators from the Alliance of Thousands of Immortals came to search, but they failed to discover the hidden Li Fan.
And Li Fan also saw that those black-clothed cultivators seemed to be merely going through the motions.
They hastily finished a token search and then moved on to the next search location.
“Interesting.”
Observing their demeanor, Li Fan pondered thoughtfully.
The lockdown and massive search continued for ten days.
At first, the cultivators of the Four States were somewhat cooperative, but as time passed and there was no sign of things returning to normal, voices of dissatisfaction spread gradually.
The cultivators residing within the Four States of Sky Authority were undoubtedly the most core and important part of the Alliance of Thousands of Immortals.
This unreasonable seal was doomed not to last long.
After ten days, facing an increasingly turbulent wave of opposition, the Immortal Alliance finally lifted the restrictions on the Four States.
The scenes reflected in the sky slowly dispersed, and the border of the Four States appeared once again behind the White Mist Barrier.
Only the vast cracks that spanned from Heaven to Earth remained, unabated.
Like the wounds of Heaven and Earth, they reminded the cultivators of the recent turmoil and the unreality of this place.
Li Fan did not attempt to escape immediately but remained hunkered down in his hidden Cave Mansion. After more than a month, when the impact of the incident had finally subsided and there was hardly any talk of it anymore, he quietly left.
From start to finish, he never received any communication from Mo Rubing.
Be it a call for help or a warning.
There was nothing.
Li Fan then made another trip to Weidu, where the human splits of the Heavenly Mysterious Mirror were located.
There was no longer a trace of that human split to be seen.
