Chapter 1805: Chapter 1457: The Fable of Mountain Sea
For Li Buren, a being purely devoted to destruction, the emotion of “fear” almost doesn’t exist.
Though he can use the Power of Infinity, he dares not to.
The reason lies in “instinct.”
Once the thought of employing Infinite Immortal Spirit Power emerges in his spirit consciousness, an image of the boundless Infinite Sea seems to appear before Li Buren’s eyes.
Each drop is a colossal wave carrying the weight of billions of years, cascading down according to the channel connecting with the Infinite Sea. It will submerge all things, even the Great Dao of Heaven and Earth, in its entirety. Nothing in the Mortal World shall survive it.
This indescribable pressure makes it difficult for Li Buren to press that invisible “button,” even if it’s within reach.
Besides the pressure from the majestic Infinite Sea itself, what concerns Li Buren even more are the terrifying entities hidden beneath the Infinite Sea, unseen by him. Merely reacting to Hai Zhen’s presence, the ripples from their thoughts cause massive waves on the Infinite Sea.
Since returning to reality, Li Fan has been trying to communicate with Hai Zhen, seeking more information about the Infinite Sea. However, he’s received no response.

Fortunately, Li Fan is somewhat reassured as the power of “Hai Zhen” doesn’t seem to be directly affected, still operable with a thought. Hai Zhen might simply be in a poor mood and lazy to respond.
Nevertheless, what Li Fan glimpsed during this brief journey to the Infinite Sea has forced him to contemplate many things.
For instance, the apparent connection between the Infinite Sea and the Path-obliterating Calamity.
Additionally, Hai Zhen likely has a deep origin with the Infinite Sea, possibly known to the terrifying unknown entities hidden beneath it.
“Virtualize everything, return to the initial anchor point.”
“Has the Infinite Sea, hovering over the Endless Worlds, truly been backtracked…”
A profoundly heavy, yet unavoidable truth suddenly appeared before Li Fan.
Throughout time, as Li Fan’s cultivation realm increased, his understanding of Hai Zhen’s abilities deepened. From confronting a True Immortal with seeming struggle to spontaneously creating a separate timeline fragment named [Endless Samsara], the limit of Hai Zhen’s power seemed endless.
Yet today, using methods left by the former Immortal World, as he ascended to connect with the Infinite Sea, Li Fan appeared to finally glimpse Hai Zhen’s limitations.
“The terrifying entities hidden beneath the Infinite Sea are likely old acquaintances of Hai Zhen. If they are of the same rank, Hai Zhen’s power of backtracking may not apply to them.”
“However, verifying this requires entering the Infinite Sea again in the next life. But…”
A trace of gloom flickered in Li Fan’s eyes.
This is the first time since his journey through reincarnation cultivation that he’s faced enemies capable of transcending reincarnation as he does. Particularly after nearly being “drowned” in the Infinite Sea, a sudden pressure arises within him.
Moreover, Hai Zhen’s performance over the Infinite Sea, with those forces surpassing everything in the Mortal World, reminded Li Fan of the tales about the Creator God he’d heard from Liu Ruchen.
“The mighty Creator God defeated his peers, extracting their powers and evolving the myriad living beings of the world…”
Liu Ruchen mentioned seeing this legend in an ancient book.
Previously, Li Fan performed a soul search on Liu Ruchen and indeed saw this ancient book in his memory. However, when the Medicine King Sect fled the Xuanhuang World, they did so hastily. This book, not being of great importance, was left behind and subsequently lost.
“This tale of the Creator God is not documented or spread in other parts of the Xuanhuang World.”
“It’s reasonable to suspect that the supposed ancient book might be Sun Piaomiao’s casual writings…”
“Besides the legend of the Creator God, this book also contains an allegorical dialogue of the Mountain and Ocean that Liu Ruchen casually skimmed.”
Li Fan recalled what Liu Ruchen saw then.
In the ancient beginning, the world consisted solely of mountains and seas. Mountain and Sea encircled each other, relying on each other. Originally, harmony prevailed between the two until one day, life unexpectedly emerged from the Ocean.
This existence was entirely different from the Mountains and Seas, bringing vibrancy to the Ocean while naturally attracting its attention.
Initially, the Mountain didn’t mind.
The living beings of the Ocean had limited lifespans, whereas Mountain and Sea endured eternally. Compared to the almost infinite ages of Mountain and Sea, the creatures of the Ocean were destined to be mere fleeting guests.
But as time passed, the Mountain was surprised to find that the number of Ocean’s living beings hadn’t diminished; rather, they were increasingly flourishing. Upon investigation, the Mountain was shocked to discover that the Ocean, unable to bear the sight of creatures dying, shared its endless lifespan with them.
The Mountain was furious: “Ocean! Why are you doing this? What qualifies these little beings to enjoy the same infinite lifespan as us?”
The Ocean gently retorted: “Mountain, why shouldn’t we do this? You and I can exist eternally in this world; even sharing our lifespan with them won’t weaken us in the slightest. Isn’t it better for the world between mountains and seas to be lively?”
The Mountain paused, speechless.
He observed the creatures evolving in the Ocean and sighed: “Ocean, it’s not that I am stingy. It’s just that once these little beings grasp what didn’t originally belong to them, they’ll instinctively crave more.”
The Ocean countered: “What do you mean by ‘originally belong’? Isn’t this infinite lifespan that you and I possess innate?”
