Chapter 258: My Domain Must Show No Mercy

I flapped my wings and landed softly on the ground. The crimson mist around me slowly pulled back, retreating into the generator core as my wings disappeared.

My boots touched the broken earth, still warm from the battle, and I walked forward—toward the only other living human left in this pocket realm.

Marcus Holt.

We had left him here after our interrogation, never expecting it would take us this long to return. So much had happened in between… but none of it changed what needed to be done now.

I stopped beside him and looked down at his unconscious body.

I remembered what he had said back then—how the Ferans were being experimented on by the Holts. According to him, the Holts were trying to use them to control Abominations.

I let out a breath.

There were only two real possibilities. Either it was a lie the Holts had fed to their own people… or there were experiments happening for real, but not on the Ferans—by the Ferans.

It didn’t matter anymore.

This entire place was going to be flipped upside down, whether those lies were true or not.

I raised a finger.

A narrow beam of light burst from its tip, piercing through Marcus’s forehead in a flash of white.

He twitched once. Then went completely still.

[Level Up!]

[Level 131 → Level 133]

I didn’t look back. His body remained on the ground as I stepped past it, moving toward the center of the destruction I had caused. Burned earth. Shattered houses. Still-glowing craters. It was a battlefield soaked with Essence and power.

“Perfect.”

I sat down in the middle of it all, legs crossed, and closed my eyes.

The air shimmered with left over energy—wild, scattered, but still useful.

I focused.

My domain pulsed once.

And then, slowly, I began to absorb everything left behind by the chaos.

My goal was simple: saturate the Null Heart and forge a new Soul Shackle.

I glanced at the progress I’d made.

— Null Heart Charge: 730 / 1000 Essence

Without hesitation, I poured all the Essence I had left into the white core.

The moment it absorbed the flow, the core began to spin—slow at first, then faster and faster, its surface glowing faintly with each new rotation.

I stayed seated, eyes closed, my focus sharp. The air around me was still thick with the residual energy from the battle.

I let my Psynapse reach into the chaos and began drawing it in—converting the scattered force into fresh Essence, slowly refueling myself to push the charge even higher.

While the process continued, I let my mind drift back to the battle I had just finished.

I was stronger—by far. Individually, none of them stood a chance. Even together, they were little more than a distraction. But something still bothered me.

I didn’t like how I had to target them one by one. It felt inefficient. Slow.

With a domain under my control, I shouldn’t have to play whack-a-mole with weak enemies. If they were nothing but pests, I should be able to wipe them out in one sweeping move. All of them, at once.

That thought stuck with me.

And the more I pondered it, the more I realised I was approaching this the wrong way. I didn’t need to wait for a ready-made skill. I had comprehension of both Space and Light. And if I used them right—together—I could create something new. Something devastating.

Space was about distance, compression, warping positions, even severing movement itself.

Light was speed, precision, and overwhelming piercing force.

If I bent space to trap them all in one area… and then flooded that compressed zone with concentrated beams of light…

They’d have nowhere to run.

A prism of annihilation. A field where every direction was a trap, and every inch was laced with cutting light.

I could already feel the shape of the skill forming in my mind. I’d call it something fitting once I perfected it. But first, I had to understand how to intertwine the properties within my domain.

Light traveled in straight lines—but space didn’t have to.

What if I created curved space so that the beams of light bent, looped, and struck from impossible angles?

What if I twisted the area itself into a mirrored web, turning every dodge into another mistake?

I opened my eyes slowly, my vision glowing faintly with violet. The Null Heart continued to spin beneath my skin, greedily absorbing Essence as I kept fueling it.

And yet, my focus had already shifted.

This was the perfect time.

My Psynapse had just crossed a major threshold—its clarity sharper than ever, its reach deeper.

My comprehension and control had surged forward like a flood breaking through a dam.

My command over Essence felt limitless now.

So I decided to push further.

To test the edge of what I could truly do.

A domain like mine—filled with Essence, threaded with absolute control—should be a stage, not just a background. If I had comprehension of Space and Light, then why couldn’t I build a skill that treated all weak enemies as one, and removed them in a single sweep?

I activated [Psynapse Fracture].

A sharp tug rippled through my mind, and then it split. I now had two lines of thinking running in perfect tandem, each one with full access to my control and comprehension.

One fracture focused entirely on Space. It shaped the fabric of existence, felt its tension, bent it gently like stretching elastic.

The second fracture tuned into Light. It flowed like liquid fire—blinding, fast, and brutally precise.

“[Absolute Domain].”

“First: create a closed space.”

I let my mind sink into the space around me.

With my Psynapse now stronger than ever and my comprehension of the spatial law deepening, I could feel the threads of space itself—stretched, folded, curled. Manipulating them wasn’t a struggle anymore. It was like adjusting the fabric of a robe I wore.

The goal was simple: a sealed room.

I drew inspiration from an existing concept—[Spatial Shield], a skill I had seen in action multiple times. It worked by compressing the space around me, layering it until it formed a protective shell. I didn’t need the protection, but the technique of compression gave me a foundation.

I mimicked the idea.

A space about six feet across in each direction—6x6x6. Not large, just enough. I pressed inward from all six sides, forcing the spatial fabric to compact, then lock. It felt like wrapping the world around itself and then tying it off from every angle.

The moment it closed, it hummed.

It wasn’t elegant, not yet. The edges shimmered unevenly, and minor distortions crackled at the corners.

The runes inside my domain shimmered, aligning themselves to the edges of the cube as I folded the space inward.

“Second : Light”

I shifted my second Psynapse fracture’s focus entirely to the law of Light. Not just illumination, but destructive radiance. Normally, I’d fire a beam from my finger or staff, directing it like an arrow. This time, I tried something different.

I created a ball.

A floating orb of pure Light—golden, radiant, and spinning slowly—manifested in the center of the closed space. I had it hover in the middle, humming with restrained power.

The runes responded, helping mold the sphere, stabilizing its intense glow.

Then I gave it a command.

A single beam shot out from the sphere—sharp, golden, and furious. It crashed into the far wall of the sealed chamber.

Your gift is the motivation for my creation. Give me more motivation!
