Chapter 950: Chapter 90 I’ll Stop Pretending to Be Weak

Pointed at by the Tianyuan Yiqi Sword, the Heavenly Demon remained utterly unperturbed, merely chuckling as it spoke:

“You’re a cultivator of the Nascent Soul Realm, aren’t you? Do you know that in our Heavenly Demon world, Nascent Soul cultivation is equivalent to that of a mere infant?”

“Brandishing a sword at an adult with the fragile power of an infant—what gave you such audacity, hmm?”

Qiu Changtian said nothing, instead quickly asking the Kunlun Mirror:

“Is that true?”

“More or less,” the Kunlun Mirror replied ambiguously. “The gap in combat power between immortals and the Nascent Soul Realm is actually even greater than the difference between adults and children.”

“So there’s no chance of winning, right?” Qiu Changtian said in resignation, just as Xu Yinglian suddenly charged from afar.

She caught sight of the Great Unrestrained Heavenly Demon from a distance and unleashed a strike of Crimson Feather Nine Phoenix Fire before even drawing close, golden threads slicing directly toward the demon.

“Wow, Phoenix Fire—it’s so beautiful!” the Heavenly Demon chuckled, being carved into two halves by the Crimson Feather Nine Phoenix Fire. Black, inky smoke billowed from the wounds.

Xu Yinglian froze at the sight, her heart immediately sounding alarm bells.

Though the enemy seemed to have been slain outright, the relaxed, smiling expression on its face showed no sign of impending death.

The next moment, Xu Yinglian felt her vitality abruptly being drained away.

Somehow, the Heavenly Demon had circled behind her, fused into her body, and begun gnawing at her vital energy.

Xu Yinglian steeled herself, shouting to Qiu Changtian, “Run!” Then, gritting her teeth, she clasped her hands together, mustering all her remaining True Yuan to execute the Nine Bushels Thunder Fire Technique.

The Nine Bushels Thunder Fire exploded, shaking the earth and mountains to the core, causing the entire summit to tremble.

Qiu Changtian watched closely, seeing his Junior Sister Xu transform into light and disappear. He knew she had been eliminated and transported away, not truly slain, and silently exhaled in relief.

“What are you relieved about?” The Heavenly Demon’s voice sounded behind him.

“Relieved that you’ve eliminated her first,” Qiu Changtian said flatly. “Since that’s the case, I no longer need to feign weakness.”

With that, he suddenly clasped his hands together.

The Great Unrestrained Heavenly Demon sensed danger instantly and lunged at his back without hesitation, only to rebound as if striking an invisible wall.

From Qiu Changtian’s back, the Tai Yin Suming Sword emerged, its blade radiating Tai Yin Energy that surged upward, completely repelling the unseen assault of the Heavenly Demon.

Immediately afterward, Innate Great Five Elements Chaos Divine Light shot out endlessly from Qiu Changtian’s fingertips.

The Great Unrestrained Heavenly Demon clearly recognized this light, abandoning its cavalier demeanor, and let out a piercing screech.

The hallucinatory effects of the Heavenly Demon’s Sound were extraordinarily potent, so much so that even the Seven Orifices Exquisite Heart, a natural defense against illusion techniques, could not fully counter it. However, Qiu Changtian’s Daoist Heart Clarity rendered him completely immune.

Nevertheless, he feigned being controlled, his expression slack and vacant.

Seeing its illusion take hold, the Heavenly Demon swiftly maneuvered, avoiding the direction of the Tai Yin Suming Sword, and transformed into black light to once again attempt to invade Qiu Changtian’s body.

In the next instant, the Great Five Elements Divine Light erupted, striking the Great Unrestrained Heavenly Demon squarely.

The demon’s mist-like form disintegrated instantly under the light, like snow melting under a blazing sun.

Before Qiu Changtian could exhale in relief, he saw the enemy reemerge from another direction—a wisp of faint, barely visible black smoke that quickly expanded back into a female figure, her face dark with grim fury as she said:

“The Great Unrestrained Heavenly Demon is immortal and indestructible. You knew how to attack me with the Innate Five Elements Divine Light, but you didn’t know this part, did you?”

“Immortal and indestructible?” Qiu Changtian felt immediate frustration and turned again to question the Kunlun Mirror.

“Yes, it cannot be vanquished by ordinary means,” the Kunlun Mirror replied. “But it can be sealed and confined in a desolate place, which is practically the same as death.”

“To seal it, I’d need a prearranged formation!” Qiu Changtian snapped irritably. “Without a formation, how am I supposed to seal the Great Unrestrained Heavenly Demon?”

“What about using fragments of the Heaven-Mending Stone?” the Suming Sword suggested.

“…Forget it.” Qiu Changtian hesitated for a moment before shaking his head.

Though there was no one else around and the Heavenly Demon had been verified as generated by the secret realm rather than a cultivator who had entered with them, Qiu Changtian still maintained a cautious “just in case” attitude, opting not to expose the existence of the Heaven-Mending Stone fragments.

Since this was merely a trial, he might as well fight it out with the demon!

Qiu Changtian formed a sword technique with his right hand, causing the Tai Yin Suming Sword to rise quickly, its tip pointing at the Great Unrestrained Heavenly Demon.

Against such a high-ranked entity, ordinary methods were unlikely to succeed; only attacks of equally high rank would be effective.

With this in mind, Qiu Changtian lightly tapped his waist with his left hand. The Myriad Avatar Absolute Immortal Sword and Huangting Kunwu Sword flew out in quick succession, joining the battle and circling him.

Most Shushan Sword Immortals struggled to wield even two swords simultaneously, but Ling Yunpo had previously received the Azure Spirit Divine Bead from the Guan Family Ancestor—a divine treasure designed to act as an external repository for his Divine Sense—allowing him to wield three swords at once.

The Heavenly Demon’s face twitched at the sight, having expected the Tai Yin Suming Sword to be extraordinary, but shocked to see two additional high-grade flying swords emerge.

The Myriad Avatar Absolute Immortal Sword exuded murderous intent, its ominous aura unmistakably branding it a fearsome Demon Cult weapon; the Huangting Kunwu Sword bore an ancient, heavy demeanor, its restrained Divine Light radiating a similarly daunting impression.

With all three swords in play, the once-confident Great Unrestrained Heavenly Demon now displayed a cautious, wary expression.

Activating her demonic techniques, she unleashed a torrent of black mist, which quickly spread in all directions.

“Bewildering Spirit Confusion Technique,” the Kunlun Mirror warned, “Avoid contact with the black mist—it will infiltrate your Sea of Consciousness and gnaw at your Divine Sense!”

Without a word, Qiu Changtian activated the Five Elements Divine Light, sweeping it across the black mist until every tendril near him was thoroughly purged.

Seeing her black mist suppressed, the Heavenly Demon did not cease her technique, continuing to release more mist as though intending to deplete Qiu Changtian’s True Yuan in a battle of attrition.

As the surrounding mist thickened, even visibility was obscured, completely hiding the Heavenly Demon’s figure.

Given the mist’s ability to erode Divine Sense, most cultivators facing this situation would be as blind as bats, forced to fight without sight.

Yet Qiu Changtian remained unshaken, speaking calmly:

“Ah Jing, scan!”

The Kunlun Mirror swiftly scanned, revealing a rapidly shifting wind of black energy, using the cover of the mist to dart around Qiu Changtian at high speed.

It seems she was searching for an opening to strike, avoiding areas guarded by my flying swords… Looking for a gap in my defense, perhaps?

With this thought, Qiu Changtian slowly adjusted his sword technique.

The Tai Yin Suming Sword, Myriad Avatar Absolute Immortal Sword, and Huangting Kunwu Sword began to orbit him, closing the gaps between them and leaving the Heavenly Demon muttering curses under her breath.
