Lin Shen originally thought that the next person would be interviewed after Ji Fengyun came out, but not long after Ji Fengyun entered the grand hall, another voice came from within the Everlasting Hall: “Lu Ming’er, please come in for the interview.”

After one person entered the Everlasting Hall, another voice would emerge.

Everyone went into the hall one by one until the eighth person was called, and it was Tian’s name, Lin Shen quickly made his way into the Everlasting Hall.

Lin Shen had thought that the grand hall would surely have many smaller rooms, and that each interviewee would go to different rooms.

After all, it would not be appropriate for everyone to be interviewed together.

But when Lin Shen entered the grand hall, he did not see any other rooms, only a very grand hall enshrining a Divine Statue that soared over a hundred meters high, in front of which a person seemed as insignificant as an ant.

But judging by his appearance, he seemed to be about Lin Shen’s age, not particularly outstanding in looks but with a fairly handsome and well-proportioned face. Compared to Ji Fengyun, he was nowhere close, but among ordinary people, he would be considered passable.

“All the Divine Palaces in the Sixth District have sent you an interview invitation, why did you choose to come here?” the Star Divine Official asked with interest.

“The Star Divine Palace customizes questions for each interviewee, this question should be to ascertain if there are any insecurities in me, right?” Lin Shen judged silently based on the interview tutorials he had seen, pondering how he should respond.

There are standard answers taught online, but looking into the eyes of that Star Divine Official, for some reason, Lin Shen felt that if he were to answer that way, he would likely be eliminated by this Star Divine Official.

After hesitating for a moment, Lin Shen finally spoke: “I do not wish to choose the Central Heaven Star Divine Palace, therefore I came here.”

Lin Shen had anticipated that the Star Divine Official would inquire further, but contrary to his expectations, the Star Divine Official did not ask why he did not want to choose the Central Heaven Star Divine Palace but instead posed another question: “Do you prefer your tofu pudding sweet or savory?”

Lin Shen was taken aback and thought: “What kind of question is this? A psychological test?”

Suddenly, Lin Shen realized this question was definitely not as simple as it seemed because he was unsure if tofu pudding even existed in the Celestial Court.

If this was not a psychological test question but rather a regional one, and the Celestial Court did not have tofu pudding at all, and it was only available in the Ancient Realm, then whether he answered sweet or savory, it would be the wrong answer.

“Has the Star God Palace begun to doubt my identity with this question?” Lin Shen’s expression remained unchanged, but his heart was in turmoil.

“What is tofu pudding? Food?” Lin Shen countered.

The Star Divine Official looked at Lin Shen but did not answer his question. Instead, he continued, “The third question is, which of these two goddesses do you find more beautiful?”

On the table, holographic images of two goddesses were projected, both looking very pretty but in different styles.

The goddess on the left had golden hair and blue eyes, exuding a sexy and enchanting beauty.

The goddess on the right, however, had red hair and brown eyes, radiating a mysterious allure.

Lin Shen gazed intently at the holographic images of the two goddesses. Speaking from personal preference, Lin Shen was fonder of the dazzling golden-haired beauty, but the redhead had her own unique and appealing charm.

“The appearances of these two goddesses are not the typical look for a goddess. What exactly is this test for?” Lin Shen’s thoughts raced, nearly making eighteen turns without figuring out the purpose of this question.

To say it was a test of Lin Shen’s racial bias didn’t make sense because the appearances of these two goddesses weren’t typical, nor did they represent a minority race.

Moreover, none of the Divine Statues of the various rulers had similar features, and Lin Shen could not deduce the point of the question.

Even the clothing on both goddesses was identical, with only slight differences in accessories, but still, no discernible issue was apparent.

“Could it be that these two different goddesses hold some historical significance? I’m not very familiar with the history of the Celestial Court, so I do not know what they each represent. If that’s the case, then it would be troublesome,” Lin Shen thought, not liking to leave his choices to fate. He continued to scrutinize the two goddesses without being able to provide an answer.

The Star Divine Official did not rush him, nor did his expression reveal impatience; he just calmly watched Lin Shen, apparently in no hurry for an answer.

After a long while, Lin Shen still could not see how to make the choice.

“Alright, the fourth question.” Finally, the Star Divine Official spoke, interrupting Lin Shen’s contemplation. Unexpectedly, he did not ask for Lin Shen’s choice but moved on to the next question instead.

“Can I choose not to answer?” Lin Shen was slightly stunned, unsure if not answering would affect his interview.

“Not to answer is also an answer,” said the Star Divine Official with a smile.

Hearing this, Lin Shen’s expression changed. He suddenly realized that this might be a test of obedience; perhaps which one he chose was not important, but it was crucial that he make a decision.

Lin Shen felt a bit annoyed. If it was as he thought, then by not answering, his chances of a successful interview had already dropped significantly.

“The fourth and final question, I hope you will answer it well,” the Star Divine Official spoke slowly, looking at Lin Shen, “If your closest and dearest one violates the laws of the Celestial Court, would you choose justice over family?”

The question immediately reminded Lin Shen of the words Deng Kuang had once said to him.

The Star Divine Official seemed like a puppet, ready to do anything, including personally capturing or even executing his friends and family, in order to uphold the laws of the Celestial Court.
