Super Gene Ⅱ: Evolution - Chapter 1107: 1107: Serving as a Slave or Servant
Chapter 1107: Chapter 1107: Serving as a Slave or Servant
Yan Li used all her strength to try to struggle to her feet, but under the suppression of the golden glowing “Kneel” character, she truly couldn’t move at all.
Lin Shen saw that Yan Li was still trying to struggle and couldn’t help but press down harder with his hand. The golden light surged wildly, directly causing the Divine Soul in front of him to shatter.
That was an Ultimate Divine Soul, yet it couldn’t withstand the slightest pressure, collapsing into ashes just like that.
The Divine Soul of King Yanluo residing in Yan Li’s body also exploded in that instant, and the Six Paths of Reincarnation vanished into thin air. Two figures fell out of the dissipating smoke and clouds.
Yan Li spewed mouthfuls of fresh blood, her body pressed firmly against the ground, completely embedded into its surface.
The golden light disappeared, and Yan Li barely raised her head, struggling a few times but failing to get up. She was too gravely injured.
She raised her blood-smeared face, trembling, to look at Lin Shen, standing serenely as if he were a mere mortal—without any detectable fluctuations of power. Yet, that seemingly ordinary figure struck terror in Yan Li, far beyond any of the All Heavens Demonic Gods.
She couldn’t comprehend what kind of horrifying strength this person possessed—to wield such earth-shattering power with a single hand. It shook the very foundations of her worldview.
Lin Shen was about to strike while the iron was hot and end her life, but then he noticed that Yan Li was actually struggling to stand up. His heart couldn’t help but skip a beat.
The “Kneel” character in his palm had already vanished; he wasn’t sure if he could summon the Jade Emperor again to aid him.
The likelihood was slim. The Jade Emperor had told him before that the Guardian Spirit could only be summoned once.
Without the Jade Emperor’s divine strength, Lin Shen was far from being a match for Yan Li.
“This woman’s life is really resilient. Even after all this, she hasn’t died and can still stand.” Lin Shen watched Yan Li stagger towards him, forcing himself to appear indifferent despite an uneasy feeling within.
Luckily, Di Esi and Wei Wufu didn’t appear to have suffered serious damage and had already gotten back up. If the three of them cooperated, they might still stand a chance against this heavily injured Yan Li, whose Divine Soul and Divine Spirit had both been shattered.
However, Di Esi and Wei Wufu weren’t in great shape either. After getting back up and assessing the situation, they were readying themselves to fight alongside Lin Shen.
Unfortunately, their bodies were experiencing certain issues, preventing them from charging forward immediately.
Thud!
Just as the three harbored their own thoughts, Yan Li—who was walking toward Lin Shen—suddenly fell to her knees again.
This time, however, it wasn’t Lin Shen’s power forcing her down; it was of her own volition. She bowed before Lin Shen, trembling as she spoke: “It’s all my fault for being blind and foolish. I shouldn’t have opposed you, Lord. Now, I am the last remaining bloodline of the Yan Family. No matter what, I mustn’t die. If you could spare my life, I am willing to serve you as a slave, as a servant. From now on, Immortal-Returning City will look to you alone; I dare not harbor even a hint of defiance.”
Di Esi and Wei Wufu stared at Lin Shen and Yan Li in astonishment, utterly perplexed by what had transpired. How had the invincible Yan Li, once akin to a Demon God, suddenly become like this?
Lin Shen looked at Yan Li, who was kneeling in front of him, countless thoughts flashing through his mind.
He wasn’t sure if he and the other two could defeat Yan Li under current circumstances. Di Esi and Wei Wufu’s conditions didn’t seem favorable either. Yan Li might have lost her Divine Soul and Spirit, and suffered severe injuries, but her rank and abilities were still undeniable. If they acted now but failed to kill her, and instead exposed their weaknesses, it would be disastrous.
These thoughts flickered by in mere moments. Lin Shen looked at her and spoke coldly: “If I want to take this Six Paths Reincarnation Institute, would you consent?”
“Everything in Immortal-Returning City is at your disposal, Lord. I only beg you to spare my life,” Yan Li’s body trembled as she bowed lower, daring not to raise her head, still kneeling as she replied.
“Come closer,” Lin Shen said with a solemn expression, beckoning her forward.
Yan Li’s body shuddered again. She raised her head to look at Lin Shen, her eyes filled with complicated emotions—fear, anxiety, and a hint of hesitation.
Lin Shen simply stood there, softly smiling as he gestured. “What, didn’t you just vow to be a slave and a servant? And now you refuse to move at my command?”
“As you command.” Yan Li bit her lip, slowly rising to her feet.
“Did I tell you to stand up?” Lin Shen’s voice turned icy, the smile vanishing from his face.
Yan Li’s heart sank. She quickly knelt back down, confused and wary as she looked up at Lin Shen and stammered: “Wasn’t it you, Lord, who just told me to come closer?”
“I told you to come closer. I didn’t say you could stand.” Lin Shen’s tone was frosty, his expression hardening.
Yan Li instantly understood his intention, her face darkening to a shade as red as liver. She’d never endured such humiliation before, her grief and anger blended into a deep sense of despair.
But staring into Lin Shen’s cold, unfeeling gaze was like being doused in ice water. Her desire to fight back faded slightly, leaving her sobered.
Lin Shen’s earlier attack had utterly shattered her confidence. Fear had grown roots in her heart, rendering her incapable of contemplating his defeat.
Just a simple strike from him had destroyed her Divine Soul and Spirit, leaving her Ultimate Form critically wounded. Such overwhelming power had exceeded everything she knew.
Despite guessing that Lin Shen’s ability might be restrained by severe limitations since he didn’t showcase this earlier in combat, Yan Li couldn’t afford to gamble. Fear had already seeped into her bones.
Moreover, Lin Shen’s utter disregard for her now only made her even more wary of upsetting him.
“I must live. If I die, the Yan Family will be completely wiped out.” Yan Li endured her humiliation, remaining on her knees, then began inching toward Lin Shen with her head lowered.
Yan Li kept her gaze low, occasionally sneaking glances at Lin Shen, hoping to discern some sign of his true intentions—whether he truly possessed such unshakable confidence or was bluffing.
But Lin Shen’s indifferent reaction left Yan Li disappointed. Even as she approached him on her knees, Lin Shen simply watched her with cold detachment, not lifting a single finger.
“Closer,” Lin Shen said lightly when Yan Li stopped moving.
His words further cemented her belief that Lin Shen could still wield that terrifying power. Otherwise, he wouldn’t act so fearlessly.
As she drew nearer, practically pressed against Lin Shen now, she calculated that at this range, should she launch a sudden attack, Lin Shen wouldn’t have time to counter—unless he summoned that dreadful power again.
She continued crawling forward, tilting her head slightly to look at Lin Shen, now within striking distance. She felt more confident than ever that her attack would reach Lin Shen’s vital points.
Instead of stopping her approach, Lin Shen’s face broke into a smile. He reached out a hand, moving it slowly toward her head.
Yan Li ultimately didn’t dare attack. Instead, her instinctive reaction made her tilt her head slightly, avoiding Lin Shen’s hand.
Seeing the smile fade from Lin Shen’s face, Yan Li’s heart leapt in fright. She forced herself to suppress her urge to avoid his touch, kneeling motionlessly instead.
“That’s better.” Lin Shen’s palm rested lightly on Yan Li’s head, stroking her blood-soaked hair, as he smiled and said, “From now on, you’ll stay by my side and help me manage this Yin Mountain Star.”
Yan Li was both shocked and elated by his words. Her gaze toward Lin Shen now carried a trace of fiery intensity.
