Chapter 393: Chapter 393 – Temporary Leader [ Part 2 ]
Two hours later…
I readied a plan and the men fixed themselves up for what they thought would be the final fight and got out.
Right now, I stood before the guys as Oppet yelled, “Present Arms!”
They all quickly stood in attention, gave me a salute and kept it.
“Well… the time you’ve all been fighting for has arrived.” I said while walking back and forth through a limited lane.
“One more fight and it’ll be over for those retched beings that live and breathe as the rest of us. Truly, how can someone with the same structure and blood as us, act so savagely, it’s truly unprecedented.” I shake my head down in disappointment.
Now we both know, this is by far from what my real thoughts are, but who the fuck cares? As long as I can motivate this group long enough to die in the battlefield, my job is done.
I nod to Oppet who screams, “Open Arms!”
Everyone put their hands down and stood a bit relaxed.
“Do any of you have any problem continuing forward?” I ask them, “As you’ve heard from our intelligence, the enemy would be a bit stronger than we thought and they would also have hostages.”
The soldiers already started groaning.
“Yeah, I know. Those fuckers weren’t a big headache enough and now you have to look for damsel in distress too… at least hope that the damsel is hot enough to lose a finger or two.”
The soldiers laughed at that and I could see my charm working its ways.
Even Klein, who groaned inwardly for the unkempt time, has grown accustomed to Henry’s ways. Yes, it was much more bizarre and strange than needed, but at least it didn’t go to waste.
He could see the soldiers smile and respond to him. They almost looked at him as he was like them, a simple man who cussed out more than needed.
“Okay, let’s not waste any more time.” I pull my large sword out and point it towards the sun, “To battle and hot damsels, you morons!”
“Yay!”
…
We set out right after that and after 3 hours of journey we were just two kilometers away from the base.
Why so far?
Because unlike the other bases, this one didn’t have much forestry around it. Definitely not enough to hide a company of two hundred plus soldiers.
This was just far enough for us to survey them while planning our move.
“Status, Oppet!” I call out the right name as the man enthusiastically went to check out and came back quickly.

“Sir, the enemy looks to be in their usual bored self and does not seem to be aware of our presence.” Oppet said while being in a saluting position for no reason.
“Visible numbers?”
“Seven outside. Three on the front and two each on both the left and right side.”
I nod, “What about the back?”
“I couldn’t get visual because of the building but I’m sure that there should be three or two people back there as well.”
I look ahead and confirm it with my own eyes. Towards the back there were indeed three people just like the front, occasionally moving like bored out rapists.
Then I look into the building and become shocked, “What the?”
I saw something out of order. There wasn’t a huge number of bandits inside, instead it was the lack of it. There wasn’t much there, just a few of them and those inside also look like they were wounded.
Definitely not what the intel suggested.
“Oppet, has there been any recent news?”
Oppet replied quickly, “No. All that our scouts got was already shown to you.”
“So nothing about them going out and getting caught in a big fight?”
Oppet looked confused, the man didn’t know a thing about what I saw, “Sir, what are you talking about?”
“It’s just that… the bandits, they look quite beat down, don’t you think?”
Oppet took the spyglasses and nodded after a while, “Yes… they do look a bit unusual, but it could be that they’re just bored.”
“Could be… could be.” I nod slowly, not telling him anything, “Alright, we’ll go with our first phase and sent Platoon C to their back.”
“Quietly” Oppet added and I nod before zooming into the building again.
I checked once more to see where the hostages are. Overlooking the males, I see some females at the kitchen who were tied by a limb and a few other women at some beds… being forced upon.
Good thing I can only see through stuff with reddish or other biological colors.
‘But where are the guests?’
I check and see down the building to see four figures tied up under the basement. Two male and two females.
“Tell Platoon C to stand by for our order, we don’t know who our special guests are yet.”
“Will do, sir.” Oppet said and went away to instruct it. Klein came a second later.
“Do you do that on purpose.”
“What?” I curiously asked.
“The name mis-correction. You always seem to get his name right at compulsory times while misinterpreting others.”
I smile, Klein was like the hawk that quietly watched you until the end.
“I wanted to inspire him and this was a fun way.”
“For who?” Klein changed the words, “What will you do with the hostages?”
“I’ll need to first check them… if they’re not important enough, we’ll go forward with the ‘kill em all’ plan.”
Klein didn’t show any emotion and turned to leave, “Better create a good excuse for the commander then.”
I look at Klein’s leaving figure and wonder, ‘Still can’t tell whether he wants me to go with the eradicating plan or not? I seriously pray that his wife at least gets some good lay.’
Oppet came back a moment later, “It’s done sir, now what?”
“Now we wait for them to get closer before we start our move.”
And we waited before I checked that they were close enough.
I stand up as Oppet came to relay what I already knew, “It’s time.”
“Yes, sir. That’s what I came to say, they are close to the spot.”
“Tell everyone, Platoon A to move forward and B to go by the side in case of surprise attack and D to hold back as backup.” I say and loudly exclaim, “To Battle!”
…
On the other side, at the Bandits…
One of the three bandits who were looking around with wounds, suddenly saw something ahead, “What’s that?”
He peered further and finally saw a large group of soldiers actively coming towards them. There was a blue banner waving in the air with the Religias sigil on it.
“Fuck! They are here.” The guy screamed and went inside to inform others.
His friends who suddenly heard him scream looked ahead and started to sweat. “It’s the Religias army!”
“That not all… the Steel Smasher is there too!” The other bandit said as both of them started to shake in their boots.
The Steel Smasher was the name given to Henry by the bandits. His renown had also reached the bandits and they fearfully gave him that name.
“We’re dead then.” The guy said, any hope extinguishing already, “He- he’ll kill us. We are all going to die horribly.”
Suddenly, he felt a hand on his shoulder and looked back to see a calm smile, “Why are you worrying so much, we still have that trump card.”
