“Mind if I come in?” I say to Arthur and the others as they nod in approval. But the real thing was that, I was already in and sitting on something by the time they agreed.

“So I’ve talked your situation out and…” All of them had nervous looks except for Wilson, “…And okay, you guys can go. You will be given an armed escort of 40 men for protection.”

“And me?” Samantha asked, “Is it okay for me to leave too?”

“Yeah… as long as you don’t get caught by our past or future enemy, it’ll be fine.” Samantha smiled. “It’s actually better if you’re not here.”

“As you can see,” I show around with my hands, “The situation is not actually good at this moment and home right now isn’t safe as well.”

“But why?” Elisabeth asked and looked between Samantha and me, “You two don’t have any correlating connection for all I know.”

“What? What is it?” Arthur feeling the suspense smiled, “Is it some good news?” He looked between Samantha and Henry and smiled mischievously.

Arthur knew that Samantha had feelings for Henry. It was too evident not to notice and he hoped that his friend/rival would accept his other friends heart.

Except, the guy didn’t even know his own girlfriend’s real feelings.

I smile, “It’s certainly a good one. You see, I’m about to be engaged… and it’s none other than Samantha’s older sister here, Margaret.”

There was a stern silence around the place.

Arthur quietly looked at Samantha who hid her face further inside and felt pity. Elisabeth had a lost childlike look on her as she wondered whether she was dreaming or is this a nightmare?

Finally, there was Winona, who was shocked too but had to keep up with her eating act. But even she was feeling quite the downer inside, the food actually helped her.

“I can see the happiness oozing out of you guys.” I remark sharply.

“I- I’m happy for you, Henry.” Wilson said and laughed but that laughter felt a bit creepy to me.

“Ye- yeah, We’re happy as well.” Arthur smiled and clapped in congratulations while shaking Elisabeth to do the same.

Elisabeth got out of her reverie and clapped hands, but you couldn’t tell what she was thinking with that dark look on her.

Then there was Samantha who quietly looked down and everyone quietly looked at her but none said anything.

After an awkward silence later, I talk, “Well, now that you know the news, you know the reason why I can’t come with you. Believe me I want to, but the timing isn’t just right.”

“It’s alright Henry, you’ve already helped us escape and done a lot for us. We can’t ask for more.” Arthur said, the guy was the only one pulling the whole team along.

I nod, “Well… if you don’t have anything more from me, I’ll take my leave. As you know, men to overlook and have to prepare a lot of things. I hope that everything goes well on your journey.”

“Hey, if it goes as well, then I might just invite all of you to the wedding.”

‘You weren’t going to?’ Arthur had that thought but smiled outside.
