The Goddess Made A Mistake Again - Chapter 406: 406 - Disturbance Jumps In
Chapter 406: Chapter 406 – Disturbance Jumps In
Margaret didn’t fully understand Henry’s words. It was one of those that had huge expressions but were spoken in a unique way… but she felt the emotion from this one.
“Bring it on!” The smile on Margaret’s enlarged dangerously as I smiled back.
I reply honestly as my right hand clenched back and went towards her, aiming at her stomach.
“Wait!” A third party spoke and to both our surprise, arrived in the middle.
It was Lucian, the guy just jumped in front of my punch.
I grit my teeth and had to forcefully lessen the force behind my punch.
“Bang!”
Lucian felt life knock out of him as his mouth jerked open and his stomach turned out. Then like a pierced balloon floating away, Lucian was sent flying across the place. He had a tall fall as he went across the courtyard and stopped over a garden.
“Ar- Argh…” Lucian groaned as his internal organs were all turning around. He couldn’t believe that he actually got hit… and survived!
“Lucian!” Margaret called out the guy and ran towards him.
‘Damn! Why the fuck did he do that?’ I clench my hands, feeling a bit disgruntled. Suddenly lowering a full frontal punch like that had its drawbacks too. But it would be fine quickly, but on the other hand…
“Hell! That hurts!” Lucian said as he slowly got himself up, clutching his stomach.
“Blergh!” Suddenly, he vomited blood from his mouth and saw that there was a tooth among them too, “Wh- What! A tooth?”
“Lucian!” Lucian heard Margaret’s voice and looked up to see her running towards him. Seeing that worried look on her, Lucian felt that all he went through was oka-
“Blergh!” He vomited blood again, ‘…Definitely, not okay.’
Margaret came to him and looked at him, “Are you alright?”
“Ye- Yes, Margaret.” Lucian said, his voice broken from the attack. “What matters is you’re alright.”
“I’m alright?” Margaret raised a brow and shook her head, “Did you hit your head or anything?”
“No… just my stomach.” He coughed again. “Wh- What happened? Did that bastard hurt you, Margaret?”
“And what bastard are you talking about, Lucian.” I step in, “Is it perhaps me.”
“Of course, it’s you. Who else would I be talking about? How dare you hit Margaret? You’re going to be terribly punished for that, mark my words!”
“No” I shook my head, “If anyone’s getting punished, it’s you.”
Lucian didn’t care about Henry’s words and cursed, “I’ll tell the guards, commander and everyone about what you did today and how you failed! Let’s see if you can keep acting calm then.”
“I failed?… no no, Lucian. I stopped myself.” I smile now, “You see, that punch you got from me, it’s actually not even my full power. I had to stop it when I saw how foolishly you jumped in our important matter.”
Lucian didn’t believe Henry’s words one bit, “Important matter? What nonsense are you trying to fill my head with, Henry. I saw you punch Margaret, are you saying that was important too?”
“Actually, yes. I still haven’t defeated her so we need to continue.”
“You! How dare you act so blatantly in front of m-”
I whistle to stop him, “Don’t say something you’re going to regret.”
Margaret interrupted before Lucian could say something, “Why did you interrupt us, Lucian?”
“Interrupt?” Lucian looked confused, “What are you talking about Margaret, I saved you from this guy’s attack.”
“Saved her?” I roll my eyes, “Margaret could have easily taken that level of power your crying about.”
“Henry” She put a hand on my chest, “Will you let me take care of this matter?”
I simply lift my hands and took two steps back.
“So…” Margaret asked again, “Why did you?”
“I can’t understand what you are saying.” Lucian denied, “I saw that you were about to get hit and I jumped in. Is there a problem with that?”
“Of course there is or I wouldn’t have asked you, would I?” She said.
“I don’t understand what you’re talking about Margaret. What do you take your old friend for?”
Her eyes turned sharp at Lucian’s deception, “Don’t try to use emotions against me, that’s cheap play even from you Lucian.”
“I had already told the guards and others to not disturb us at this place. I am sure you heard something regarding that.” Margaret’s tone turned cold, “Yet, you still came and interrupted us.”
“Wh- What are you sayin-”
“Tell me… How long have you been spying on us, Lucian?”
Lucian gulped and there was sweat on his forehead, “Spy?… How can I even think of doing that?”
“Another lie.” Margaret ruthlessly pointed out, “I already saw your figure peeking through that bundle of sunflowers when I first attacked, tell me that what I saw was false?”
Lucian went quiet. He knew that lying about that when Margaret herself saw him would be very bad… so he had to get innovative.
Lucian lowered his head a bit and his voice started cracking as he spoke, “I- I know that what I did was wrong… spying is wrong and there’s nothing that could justify it.”
‘Ay, Mama. The fucker is finally about to show his skills here.’ I quietly look with a dark face.
“But when I heard that you and him were going to be alone, at such a secluded place… I couldn’t help but get worried.” Lucian said, looking obviously guilty, “It’s not that I don’t trust Henry, I just have this bad feeling in my chest.”
“And that feeling only churns more as I think of him with you. I know how that sounds like, that I am in love with you and acting selfish… maybe I am acting selfish, but that is only because I love you.”
“You don’t know him like I do, Margaret.” Lucian pointed accusatory at me, “The things he did to those people. Even though they were our enemies and had to be killed… they shouldn’t have died like that, Marge.”
‘And now with the lovely short name.’ My face crunched up in dryness.
“He’s a monster that feels satisfied seeing others in pain. I could see him smile truly for the first time when he smothered someone to death. Their agony is his bliss.”
“So yes, I did spy on you Margaret… but I only did it because I care for you deeply.”
‘Well… he’s not wrong and that was a somewhat okay speech. Now if only Margaret doesn’t belie-‘ My face light up seeing her face, ‘Who am I kidding?’
‘This is Margaret Religias we’re talking about, The Villainess known for her indifference even towards her own blood sister.’
“Am I a joke?”
“Hm?… What do you-” Lucian felt his face dry up seeing the apathetic look on Margaret.
“Am I someone you think is so stupid that I would believe those lies you just made up? Because you would be very wrong to think so, Lucian.” Margaret coldly spat, “I’m not that childhood friend of yours that would play with wooden swords anymore. I train, fight and kill… definitely more than what you can even count up to.”
“Margaret, liste-”

“No! You listen, Lucian!” Margaret stepped up saying the cold and hard truth.
“If I ever see or hear you trying to disturb any matters that resonate to us, I will show you a real fight on the field like never before.”
“One that will make you pee in those big boy pants you now were.”
“So leave now and don’t try to bother us ever again… because we both will certainly not make it swift.”
