Chapter 1433: 700 Black Wind King (Third Watch) Chapter 1433: 700 Black Wind King (Third Watch) The King of Hei Fengqi had never been so humiliated; enraged with shame, he charged after Muma with a powerful killing intent!

With Muma’s current strength, in truth, he wasn’t capable of outrunning the King of Hei Fengqi, but considering Muma was running with the determination of a rebirth, his potential was greatly stimulated, and for the moment, he hadn’t let the King of Hei Fengqi catch up.

The King of Hei Fengqi became angrier the longer he chased and hated that he couldn’t trample Muma to death.

Muma didn’t run towards crowded areas, probably understanding that he shouldn’t actually cause trouble for Gu Jiao; he tried his best to dart into empty alleyways where few people roamed.

As the two horses charged past an empty, aged Old Street, a bluish-clothed man inside a carriage heading in the same direction suddenly pulled aside the curtain and exclaimed, “Big brother, look! What’s that?”

The brown-clad youth addressed as big brother looked ahead, “That is… the Hei Fengqi of the Han Family?”

The man in blue replied, “It’s the King of Hei Fengqi, big brother!”

The brown-clad youth, astonished, said, “How did the King of Hei Fengqi end up… running onto the Avenue like this?”

The King of Hei Fengqi was the mount of the Han Family’s heir; the most valuable horse in all of Shengdu, and everyone knew how much the heir treasured it. How could it be allowed to run out alone?

The man in blue said, “Although it’s unclear why, big brother, haven’t you always wanted a precious horse like the King of Hei Fengqi? Since the Han Family’s heir isn’t here, why not…”

The brown-clad youth frowned, “Steal Han Ye’s horse? Have you gone mad?”

A glint of scheming flashed in the eyes of the man in blue as he smiled and said to his big brother, “Big brother, there’s no one on this street. If you don’t tell, and I don’t tell, who would know we took his horse? He didn’t secure his horse properly and allowed it to run onto the Avenue. Even if we don’t catch it, can you guarantee that others won’t? Instead of letting others profit, we might as well take it for ourselves.”

The brown-clad youth looked ahead, “Did two horses just pass by?”

The two horses were running in a straight line, Muma’s figure obscured by the tall and robust King of Hei Fengqi.

The man in blue laughed, “Yes, big brother.”

The brown-clad youth, in thought, said, “The horse that the King of Hei Fengqi couldn’t catch up to must also be a good horse.”

The man in blue folded up his fan, “Then let’s take both horses!”

Both men got out of the carriage, utilizing their light body skills to leap across the rooftops, taking a shortcut to get above the two horses; they exchanged a glance.

“Big brother! Catch!”

The man in blue threw a bottle of powder, which the brown-clad youth caught, held his breath, poured the powder onto a handkerchief, and then leapt down, landing on the back of the King of Hei Fengqi.

The brown-clad youth said, “I’ll leave the other horse to you!”

“Don’t worry, big brother! I’m on it!” the man in blue reproduced the trick, creating a handkerchief with powder and swooped down as well.

The powder they sprinkled on their handkerchiefs was Paralysis Medicine; it was necessary to resort to such means to subdue a fiery steed like the King of Hei Fengqi.

Regarding the other horse, it must also be one of the Han Family’s Hei Fengqi. Though not as formidable as the King of Hei Fengqi, having Paralysis Medicine was a precaution.

Both men, atop the horses, covered the muzzles of the steeds they were on with their handkerchiefs, causing them to quickly inhale the powdered drug.

Even as the horses struggled, they would be affected by the medicine to some degree; the drug’s efficacy was extremely potent, with just the size of a fingernail able to bring down an ox.

However, what the two men didn’t expect was that the two horses were far more fierce than they imagined. They hadn’t even secured their seats before being thrown off by both the King of Hei Fengqi and Muma.

The two narrowly escaped serious injury from the fall.

After steadying themselves, the man in blue pulled out a porcelain bottle.

The brown-clad youth grabbed his wrist, “What are you doing?”

The man in blue said, “Big brother, since the Paralysis Medicine didn’t work, we have no choice but to use Gunpowder!”

The brown-clad youth coldly said, “You want to use Gunpowder here and make it easy for others to trace it back to us?”

The man in blue said, “But…”
With a deep look towards the King of Hei Fengqi ahead, the brown-clad youth said, “Follow me. We’ll make our move in another place!”

The man in blue smiled, “Big brother is always so clever!”

The two pursued Muma and the King of Hei Fengqi, but soon, something seemed amiss.

“Big brother! They… they’ve run into the Hunting Grounds!”

The Hunting Grounds were enclosed by fences all around, yet the two horses, neither known for holding back, had astonishingly leapt over the high fences.

“What do we do now, big brother?” asked the man in blue, anxious.

With furrowed brows, the brown-clad youth lamented, “What can we do? That is the Royal Family’s Hunting Grounds, and trespassers are sentenced to death.”

The man in blue said in a dejected tone, “The duck that was almost in our hands has flown away!”

Muma didn’t realize the place he had barged into was the Royal Family’s Hunting Grounds; he was the king of wild horses, the wild his true domain. Hence, upon seeing the jungle, he dashed in.

Once inside the jungle, he indeed gained the advantage of wild survival; no matter how complex or difficult the terrain, it was no challenge for him.

Sensing something amiss with the black mud ahead by instinct, he leaped gracefully and precisely, landing in a place that was sufficiently safe.

The King of Hei Fengqi was unrivaled on the battlefield, but when it came to the dangers of the jungle, its sense of smell was not as keen as that of a wild horse king.

Unwary, it stepped into a swampy morass full of mud.

Suddenly, it could no longer move, its hooves rendered powerless.

In a swamp, the greater the strength and the more one struggles, the faster one sinks; in the blink of an eye, the swamp had submerged its knees.

As Muma ran, the King of Hei Fengqi followed behind; he turned his head curiously for a look and saw that the King of Hei Fengqi had sunk into the swamp, a place he instinctively feared in his bones.

He knew to keep away.

It hesitated for a moment but continued to prance happily forward, ignoring the Hei Fengqi King.

However, after a while, it stopped.

It turned back to look at the Hei Fengqi King, who was sinking deeper and deeper into the swamp, with pain and despair shining in his eyes.

The Hei Fengqi King was not afraid of death, but it was destined to die on the battlefield, not drowned in a pool of mud.

The Stallion King paced in circles in frustration, biting its own tail.

Eventually, it cautiously approached.

Overcoming its instinctive fear of the swamp, it slowly moved to within three feet of the Hei Fengqi King, the closest it dared to get.

One more inch was the swamp.

It called out to the Hei Fengqi King.

The Hei Fengqi King didn’t move. It was slowly collapsing, bit by bit being swallowed by the swamp.

The Stallion King sniffed him, stretched out its head to reach him, but couldn’t.

Survival of the fittest: Life for the wild horses was never easy; their natural predators included not just beasts but also the dangers of the jungle.

Having no other choice, the Stallion King gave up, circled around him, and left the place.

Gu Jiao and Old Master Meng sat waiting in the carriage, with Gu Jiao sitting on the outside.

After about half an hour, the Stallion King returned in a mad dash.

Gu Jiao raised an eyebrow, “Look, it’s back.”

Old Master Meng lifted the curtain to look, and heaved a sigh of relief, “It really has come back. Scared me to death.”

When the Stallion King arrived in front of the carriage, it didn’t put on its harness as usual. Instead, it grabbed Gu Jiao’s skirt hem with its teeth, pulling her out.

After Gu Jiao got off the carriage, it stood in front of her, indicating that it wanted to carry her.

“Do you want to take me somewhere?” Gu Jiao asked.

The Stallion King turned around on the spot.

This meant it wanted to go.

But there was no way Gu Jiao could ride it, so she went to the entrance of the National Master Hall, “May I borrow a horse?”

Gu Jiao borrowed a spirited horse from the National Master Hall and followed the Stallion King straight to the Royal Hunting Grounds.

Gu Jiao didn’t recognize this as the Royal Hunting Grounds. After the Stallion King crossed over, she also–
The fence was too high; the horse from the National Master Hall couldn’t make it over.

Gu Jiao had to temporarily tie the horse to the fence outside and then clambered over it herself.

The swamp wasn’t far, and Gu Jiao had only run a few steps before she saw the big black horse mired in the swamp.

Realizing that struggling would only make it sink faster, the Hei Fengqi King had given up moving; even so, it was almost completely swallowed by the swamp now, with only its long neck and a saddle visible above.

The immense pressure made even breathing difficult for the Hei Fengqi King.

The Stallion King called out to the Hei Fengqi King.

Gu Jiao didn’t understand horse language, so she didn’t know what it was calling.

Gu Jiao took a bundle of rope from her small basket, tied one end with a knot around the Stallion King, and then quickly cut two long branches, laying them over the swamp, ensuring both ends were anchored on solid ground. She walked across the branches.

This was very dangerous, for if the Hei Fengqi King attacked her even once, she would lose her balance, and falling would mean sinking into the swamp.

Fortunately, the Hei Fengqi King didn’t attack.

She reached the Hei Fengqi King’s side and threaded the rope under the saddle, tying it with a tight knot.

Then she said to the Stallion King, “Pull!”

For the two-and-a-half-year-old Stallion King, pulling a fully-grown Hei Fengqi King that was almost entirely submerged in the swamp was an extremely difficult task.

The Stallion King’s hooves slipped, and it fell to the ground several times.

Each time it fell, it got back up again.

Bearing a weight no horse its age should, it finally pulled the Hei Fengqi King from the swamp when its strength was nearly exhausted.

It collapsed on the ground, panting heavily.

The Hei Fengqi King also lay on the ground.

It had inhaled the toxic gases from the swamp, showing symptoms of poisoning.

Additionally, there were sharp objects in the swamp that had cut into its belly while it struggled.

Gu Jiao observed the horse.

It looked like the Stallion King.

Its hooves were shod with horseshoes, so it likely wasn’t a wild stallion.

Gu Jiao opened her first aid kit and began to clean its wounds.
