Ruan Xia turned to comfort him. “It’s okay. Let’s not think about this. What do you want to do today? Watch a movie? Go shopping?”

Song Tingshen subconsciously became alert as soon as he heard the words “go shopping”.

He thought it over and answered, “Don’t you like buying food at the food market lately? I’ll go with you. I’ll cook for you today.”

Ruan Xia looked at him in surprise. “You can cook?”

Song Tingshen held her hand and opened the passenger door. After she sat down, he leaned against the car and helplessly smiled. “I can, but I can’t guarantee it’ll taste good. I’ll need your master guidance.”

When he graduated from college and lived in a small single room, he only got takeout when he was out for business. And even then, it was a cheap meal. During the other times, he cooked noodles or simple dishes and used his small electric rice cooker to make rice. It was much cheaper than eating out.

It was only now that Ruan Xia remembered Song Tingshen was also a person who had gone through tough times.

They chatted and laughed on the way to the food market. It didn’t take long to get there. Song Tingshen had more skills than her. He knew various dialects and was better at bargaining. She only had to follow after him. They didn’t need to buy much. After a lap around the food market, they bought everything they needed and were ready to go home.

Holding the plastic bags, the couple walked on the road. The winter sun shone down on them. It was very warm and left people feeling that this winter wasn’t bad at all.

Song Tingshen did what he said. He said he would cook and he did. Well, the way he cut vegetables was much more professional than how she looked before.

Ruan Xia stood next to him, but there wasn’t much she could help with, so she just talked with him.

Today was a lot more relaxed for her.

“After we finish eating, you go rest. I’ll clean.” Song Tingshen suddenly said.

“Why? The hourly worker rarely comes. You’re the one cleaning the house inside and outside. I don’t have work today, so you should take a break. “But you’re already very busy at work. You finally have time off. How can I let you spend this time cleaning?”
